Free Stock Market Advice [Experienced investor]

Hi all.

I am offering some free stock market advice and analysis. I've been trading for nearly 5 years and have averaged around 20-25% returns per year (except this year due to a new strategy). I am going to school planning on studying finance in order to work in an investment firm in the future (or have my own).

Some past achievements:

AMAG (AMAG Pharmaceuticals): $15 -> $65 (2-3 years holding)
NTDOY (Nintendo): $35 -> $29 (still holding/short selling) (week or so)
JNJ (Johnson & Johnson): $95 -> $115 (few months holding)
and more.

If you'd like some advice on investing in the stock market post below of pm me, your choice.
Vouch for thales he knows his stuff
20-25% chance return a year is insane.. You'd have better luck gambling.
I apologize to everyone truly. I didn't do what I did just for the hell of it. Family needed food and a roof.

I've managed it for 4 years straight. Not that hard for me.

Look up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renaissance_Technologies

" "is famed for one of the best records in investing history, returning more than 35 percent annualized over a 20-year span."[4] From 1994 through mid-2014 it averaged a 71.8% annual return."
Hi, I am a freshman in college majoring in Finance. What do you think is the best way to go about working professionally in investments? Is finance an appropriate major?

I believe it is. I will be studying finance this coming year in college as a freshman as well. I believe having connections is one of the best things you can have in the world of finance so try to get as many connections to people as you can that are in the field.

Also, start working on investing and showing that you are able to prove yourself by your knowledge. Keep researching and investing and hopefully you can land some internship somewhere that does investments and just work your way up.
Hey thales, I can't PM yet but will be in contact with you. Potentially show me where to direct some capital.

My family actually owns a financing business, inspiring me to major in finance. I am lucky to have contacts through them. I also am going to attempt to score an internship with J.P. Morgan next summer in Chicago if I am lucky, just as another way to network. I am glad I am in the correct major though!

Nice man that's a very good opportunity you have there. Just keep helping out wit your family's business and hopefully J.P. Morgan or another investment firm will give you a chance. If not, you can always start in a different area and work your way into the investment section. I wish you luck 👍
Still helping people out. Post or pm if interested.
What defensive equity positions do you currently have open?

I currently don't own any but for the current market I'd recommend gold or silver etf's.
Ive got a lot of free time coming up to watch the market most of the day while chilling (holiday) so I was thinking of investing again. Don't really know if I wanna go in for the long run or short run yet, I don't really care tbh as long as I see a good opportunity in either.

One thing I've been looking into is gold, because tbh in the long run with how useful gold is I don't think it an go very wrong, even if it was to go downwards from here for some reason there's a point not long below it would stop I think, unless we somehow found a material that all off a sudden beats gold in everything it does or something.

Next I looked at Netflix, they state that the most of their revenue comes from new subscribers during October-March period, which is coming in not long. Furthermore looking at their graphs they're lower than they've been a while and I think they have strong support down there - I think if it dips down to about 85 I'll go for it. Netflix doesn't really have any competitors that are better than them (the other ones tend to suck and have bad opinions from customers), and the amount of subscribers is growing each year and so is revenue. One con is that iirc they don't pay any dividends but that's fine if I make money off the stock.

I've also been interested in NVIDIA for long, they keep going up and I don't think they'll lose to AMD at all in the future; the problem is just that they have, as I said, kept going up, so I fear it'll stall or dip down soon.

Also I wanna do some investments on VR but I am very unsure what company is going to come out ahead. I also know with the upcoming FFXV for consoles, as well as potential other ps4-exclusive games, as well as their VR headset, Sony might be a strong pick overall.

What do you think, and do you have any companies you think may do good soon that I can look into?

In my personal opinion it would be better to invest for the shorter term. Also, I personally dislike netflix a lot. I don't see the value in it.

I don't know many VR stocks but Facebook, Microsoft, and Sony would be good for that. I know facebook owns oculus rift and I believe microsoft is coming out with new products to do with vr. I believe they are creating a new xbox next year (xbox scorpo) that will support vr.

I know this is very risky but I was considering buying some oil etf's due to the price dropping recently, however I do feel it may go even lower. I really like any sort of gun/ammo/defense/aerospace stocks such as Smith & Wesson, Lockhead Martin, etc.

If you want to get very risky but for a hefty return I'd short the market. With everything going on, the long bull market, upcoming elections, etc, I feel the market is headed downward.

If you want to find some good companies yourself I'd recommend using the stock screener on finviz.com. You can sort them by many many different ways and it may help you out which sectors are the best for you to invest in. They also have a good charts, information, and other stuff.

Hopefully I helped you our a bit 🤝
