Its the right moral thing to do, so would it be in this situation. Ofcourse greed comes into play, but ethically it is not right to keep the money. Neither would government(s) allow this, or allow you to withdraw the BTC to your Bank and buy a house..Car etc with it. As it would be suspicious illegal money. They HAVE to do that. The government will not in any sort of 0% chance, nada, nothing, ZERO, get involved. It is absolutely nothing to do with them. And as you know, you don't "withdraw BTC to your bank", you have to get it exchanged. Now that process might take a while, but still nothing illegal.

( Obviously with cashing out i mean exchanging it 🤦♂ ) I hope you do realise, that if you live a normal life and have a normal wage. Work all the time to get arround, pay bills save a little here and there to buy urself something nice / vacation.. IF you would get sent 100M in bitcoin, you deceide to take things a little more easy, perhaps working part time or even quitting or even if you'd keep the job and deceide to buy a new laundry machine, tv, sofa , king size bed and some other shit within x ammount of time. It would not add up, and sure some one could have died in your family who left you money.. But if you go out and all of the sudden buy a new car, and other expenses that you earlier could not make up for. Then where is this money coming from? Before you know it, you're going to have your bank statements checked and your house searched. Breaking bad IRL?
I'm not extremely experienced with BTC and other cryptocurrency, but I'd probably just exchange as much as I could with trusted members and slowly spend it all. It would suck since it'd take a long time to get anything extremely expensive, but at least it would be safe and probably a good deterrent to wasting all the money at once.

There's no legal law stating that you'd have to give it back. Assuming you transferred it all and went to spend it the only thing you'd need to do is pay taxes and file it. It's not illegal if you pay your taxes, and then no questions will be asked. It's an easy fix.

How do you think drug dealers get caught? Making expenses they could earlier not afford. Why do you think paypal limits you and asks you for proof of what the received payment are coming from? If you say " I woke up one day and there was XXXX$ in my BTC adress " Have fun explaining that in court. All because of the simple reason, ive tried explaining numerous times now. |
