School blocks internet in strictly one room

I am not here asking how to bypass this, I am asking this for educational purposes.
I am not trying to bypass it, I am just curious. (No, I am not going to try bypassing this at all)

At our school, the teachers are able to block off the internet, class room by class room. Basic tutoring websites are unblocked, but everything else is blocked, and ipconfig shows up as Media Disconnected.

Does anyone know how they are able to do this? I've thought of multiple things such as blocking mac-adresses but it does not make sense. It all runs on one individual network.
yeah we had the same in my school... you should infect the network with a rat and watch them

That's highly illegal, and espescially on a school network?
I am not interested in bypassing it, I just want to know for educational purposes.
I recall that teachers have different email domains than students so they probably filter it that way

Probably using an administration tool such as LanSchool or some software that directly integrates with the AP in the room to block sites.

Sorry for the slow response, been busy. But it appears that I forgot to note that the network forces everyone to download their certificate to connect to the internet. It appears that they block internet access to the certificate attached to your account.
Op you might want to check out my thread win my sig. If you are able to bypass the restrictions with one of my methods, you can sometimes learn from the flaws how the system works.

If one method works, you know that their system doesn't detect or isn't controlling THAT aspect of the system/network.

Good luck!

Have you tried sticking your dick in the cd tray that usually fixes the issue

I can vouch for this method - works in most American schools, as well as some in Mexico. Thanks, Sceptical.
Weird problem though - our school blocks content, but by no means area restricts it. Hopefully you find a way to bypass it. 😉

My primary point is not to bypass it, I just completely forgot that we had to download certificates that gives them full root access.
If anything, it's highly vulnerable to MITM attacks.
