Never saw a starter guide about overwatch around here , so i'll take my time and do it.

Overwatch developed by Blizzard, which is responsible for games received enormous acclaim as Starcraft, Diablo, Heroes of the strom, Hearthstone and of course the game memorable Warcraft, even got his own movie won the title of the film's most successful based on the game , then of course we could all go up to the hype train when it was announced.
Overwatch is based on not really new game type to us, the two groups are fighting each other and trying to win different game modes with different goals, each player chooses his team hero - Each character has different abilities and each belongs to one specific category of number catogories. But of course play has special elements in addition to those he has taken inspiration from other games like - Team Fortress 2 and the new game Paladins.
The game have also a lot of tournaments running around , his hype train never stopped , everyday a lot of people buying that game and start playing around , the game is a big success for blizzard .

Ingame Heroes (role based) -
Defense -

Hanzo - The archer , hard hero you need to snipe your arrows , but he have TON of damage and can one hit kill .
Bastion - The robot , can transfer himself to a minigun and fix himself by his abilities.
WidowMaker - "The sexy" french sniper , when her scope powered up to 100% you can one hit kill sometimes.
Torbjorn - The builder , build machines that targeting people and auto shoot them , this hero is so annoying.
Junkrat - Shooting balls but when they hit you , they explode , annyoing !
Mei - The iceage girl , she can freeze you and shoot you in your head , also she have the ability to build a wall and freeze herself for healing / def.

Offense -

Pharrah - Firing rockets at people , very easy to learn her , and she is good also for open maps , she can throw people out from the map by her ability.
Mccree - "high noon" , the cowboy he can stun you , and his shots have alot of DPS , also his ult ability can mark all the enemy team and kill them all on one shot.
Tracer - She can control the time , the most strong DPS hero in the game if you know how to play with her , she have 3 dashses and she can control the time.
Reaper - 2 shotguns on his hands , every shoot are hurt making a lot of damage , his ult ability i call it "the hell circle" when he can kill a full team by just pressing Q
Solider76 - Just a regular shooter hero , he can run , shoot rockets and heal himself , his ult ability its an actual aimbot .
Genji - The ninjaaa , hard to learn him you should practice a lot before making a competitive match with him , he can block enemy hits with his sword , and he have a dash that resetting on every kill/assist he get.
Sombra - New hero that blizzard announced today , she has the ability to hack enemy abilities , being invisible and teleporting by throwing an chip on the floor , she is using a machine gun handgun (uzi) .
Supporters -

Zenyatta - i call him the yoga man , he can heal , he is STRONG when he hit you , and his ult ability can heal all the team within seconds.
Symmetra - She is amazing for defense also , she build a traps / machines that targeting you automatically and kills you ( not instantly) , she can build them on the wall / roof / floor , so check your corners.
Mercy - The true healer of the game , she have the most fast healing on the game and she can revive all the whole team if she in a great position.
Lucio - The DJ , he is good for open maps that he can throw people out of the map , he is also healing and can grant speed to all the team + his ult ability gives you a HUGE shield.

Tanks -

Roadhog - Tank hero , he can hook you like blitzcrank from lol and shoot you in the head , also he can heal himself and his ult ability she spamming shots that knocking you back (strong asfuck).
Reinhardt - Important hero on any team / match , he have a big shield that protect the payload + the team and also he can dash and pin you to the wall which kills you instantly , and his ult ability his knocking up for 2-3 seconds.
D.VA - Strong tank hero , she is on a machine that she control it , she can dash / fly and she can make a shield that blocking bullets / abilities and even ult abilities , her ult ability she launch her machine to the air/place and its making a BIG exploding that can kill a full team , and also she have the option to re-spawn on her machine and when the enemy team are destroying her machine , she is jumping up from the machine and with a handgun and she can respawn to the machine after sometime.
Zarya - The most useful tanks for combo , she can make a shield for herself + for one of the team , her ult ability is a BIG circle that attractive all the enemy team into it , GREAT FOR COMBOS!
Winston - Our harambe :( , the science monkey , he can make a big circle that protecting him / his team and his ult knock you back which is good for open maps.

Roles explanation -
Defense -
Figures role of Defense are figures that are designed to protect the areas controlled by the Group (as it should do one of the game modes).
These characters are equipped with long-range weapons and most of them are able to build Turrets in order to keep the players of the opposing team from reaching these areas and take control of them.

Offense -
Offense role (attack) is probably the most part the game players prefer them because it promises a lot of action, players will take control of the areas opposing team already took them, or to do so before the opposing team. Offense job figures will provide the medium-range weapons close.

Supporters -
If you prefer to help players master the regions instead of doing it yourself, Support is the perfect job for you, and when you're in a different position, the support players save you more times than you can ever count.
Support characters will stock up on accessories that will give them the opportunity to heal, revive, add strength or speed to other players.

Tanks -
Tank role figures were intended to cover up other players and "Harass"the opposing team while winning players attack them.

Modes explanation -
Assault -
Where you need to attack a series of points on a map, one by one, while the opposing team will have to defend and vice versa.
Escort -
In which you'll have to borrow, or to prevent the progress of cargo through several checkpoints (payload).
Control -
Where you fight to control the point. The game works in the form of best of three rounds and after each successful conquest of the region will advance to another spot on the map.
Hybrid -
A combination between Assault and Escort when you take over the area and then accompany the cargo

Loot box system -
You can open loot boxes and get a lot of cool items , that i will notice here , you can save them and open later , but just open them and get your amazing skin/item.
So , loot boxes are not too easy to get , there is a 2 methods to get loot boxes -
Getting a loot box per level up.
Buying a loot boxes with real money.

You can know the items rare that you get from the loot boxes by a color.
Color list -
Common Item - White
Rare Item - Blue
Epic Item - Purple
Legendary Item - Yellow

Skins - Only for beauty , they are dont give you any advantage !
Emote - Those who do not know the game has a button that triggers emote and character makes any movement , So when you get an emote , your hero will do a cool pose when you click the emote button.
Victory Poses - When your team wins , the game will show your team picture , and your hero will do a cool pose
Voice Lines - Its a sentence that your hero will say when you press a button, can be obtained from lootboxes / ingame coins.
Sprays - Exactly like counter strike 1.6 , you can spray on the walls , ground anywhere , there is alot of sprays styles and there is a spray for each hero .
Highlight Intros - When you are the 'play of the game' and it shows your hero ofcourse , so your hero will do a cool movement effect expect standing and do nothing.
Currency - Ingame coins (currency) that you can use them to buy skins / highlight intros / sprays and more.
Prices for rare/common/epic/legendary (based on colors) -
Common(white) - 25 coins
Rare(blue) - 75 coins
Epic(purple) - 250 coins
Legendary(yellow) - 1000 coins
Icons - Like league of legends , player icon , they're not adding much just for beauty .

Matchmaking explanation -
Matchmaking rank list -
1.Bronze
2.Silver
3.Gold
4.Platinum
5.Diamond
6.Master
7.GrandMaster

You can start play matchmaking (competitive) from level 25 why? because i guess when you are getting to level 25 , you come with more experience and knowledge about the game / heroes and more so you can have fun .
Matchmaking as i say its 6V6 match , there is some options to setup your team .
2-2-2 - 2Tanks , 2 Healers 2Attackers (attack mode)
Def - Bastion , tojborn , symettra with tanks and healer ofc
and much more (premades like to setup by themselves) , so every competitive match you get EXP ofcourse and you get SR points .
Leaving a competitive game will result to a penalty , or before a the game start the game will be cancelled after 10 seconds and you will have to start a new one , this is will not grant as a lose/win/draw .
A lot of players starting competitive matches with premades to have better communication and for avoiding any fights/flaming , you can do it by yourself and i will recommend you to do that.
With every lose you gonna lose your SR points and you can get deranked , so play seriously :P.

40$ Overwatch - You get only the game without any addiontial things.
60$ Overwatch pack (origins edition) -
You Get 5 Legendaries skins for - Solider76 , Pharrah , Tracer , Bastion , Reaper.
You get "Tracer" champion for the game "Heroes of the storm"
You get winston baby pet for World Of Warcraft
You get cardback for hearthstone
You get mercy wings for diablo 3.

Tips -
1.Dont play ranked without a friend / two . Full team is amazing imo.
2.Dont flame your teammates because you gonna lose.
3.Dont play ranked until level 30-35 or until you practice enough on hero for def and attack side.
4.Dont waste your money on loot boxes :P

Thats it guys , i hope i helped you out , took me a lot of time to make this thread , and i hope you actually like the thread , this thread is for the all new players / players that thinking to buy overwatch , is worth the money in my opinion , i really liked the game i build my own team and we practice a lot together and its fun .
Its also a cool game to improve your movements in other games and improve your shooting / targeting , i will recommend to buy this game if you like this game scene .

I think you mixed up the portraits, it's bronze with 1 star per 100 level and when you hit 5 start and 100 level it then turns to silver and same from silver to gold :)
