Bots, Bots, Bots.
Similar to plugins, these chat bots perform a wide variety of tasks. The list of available bots is constantly growing, and can be made by anyone. Just a few examples of cool things bots can do are:
  • Play music in your channel
  • Stream videos in sync with other users
  • Perform web searches in the chat
  • Roll dice for gambling

There are many places to find bots, but just to list a few:

As far as I know the only way to get the IP of a Discord user is by accessing Discord's servers directly. I don't think they can be resolved like you can do on Skype.

Please correct me with a source if I'm wrong.
The only reason I still use Skype is because Discord isn't as widely used, so for some people I must use Skype to contact them. Otherwise I'd prefer to be 100% Discord

It's very unfortunate, isn't it? That's the main reason I made this thread. The more people that switch now, the faster it will grow.

I've gotten to the point where I won't even deal with people who use Skype. Instead I link them to discord and wait for them to switch.
Can't believe people still use Skype and teamspeak when Discord is clearly the better alternative.
