Alan Age: 21 How many hours a day do you spend on HF? At least multiple hours a day, however lately this has changed to a larger portion of the day, each day. Define your expectations for the group: A lot of questions posed by HF members often remain unanswered, this adds a lot of clutter to the community, which on its own exists mainly for the purpose of information, education and discussion of various computer-related topics. There is a substantial portion of entertainment, personal life topics as well as an active market place that has grown over the years and in my personal opinion this rise has neglected the the Tech, Code and Web sections on HF in a way. In some way I expect to find an atmosphere partially equal to what I've experienced in the groups Logic, Void and Apex when I was a member there. As to conclude my expectations of Equilibrium, these are mainly:
Why do you want to join? I deeply enjoyed being a member of Logic/Void in the past and am proud of the positive changes that took place in my life because of it. After 2,000+ posts in the SRPP section my lingual skills improved, I understood logical fallacies in a deeper way and wanted to do nothing less than to bring objectivity to various discussion topics, while keeping an open mind and room for philosophical thought. These changes later pushed me more towards the educational aspect of this community and since my return to HF during the summer of last year, I have been seeking membership of a group in which, through collaborations or individual effort, this aspect could be fulfilled. My short membership in Apex was proof of that, however the group's existence did not last long. I have recently applied to the group Writers as a side-attempt to contribute quality thinking in one way or another and was very intrigued when I saw Equilibrium pop up as a new group. Without much hesitation I started writing this application. After receiving a decent amount of informational content throughout the years of being a member on HF, I gladly choose to give back what I am thankful of for receiving. Though my tone in some of my posts may be somewhat harsh I honestly admit, I only wish to help people out in fields I feel myself knowledgeable in. I'm an all-around computer enthusiast, 3rd grade college student in ecological and energy-related technologies, open-minded thinker and offer my skills to Equilibrium's mission. Notable threads: How often can you make meaningful posts like the ones above? I may have specific fields of interest but I often browse the newly made posts in an attempt to find threads to which I can contribute. Sometimes I even search for threads with zero or few replies, to be of help and to answer an unanswered question. The frequency of me providing aid in any way is dependent on other people's needs, but this does not mean that I will not from time to time write an informational thread myself. I prefer to dedicate the majority of my time on HF on (non-financial) contributions. Why do you help others? I usually try to keep it under two hours but when I run out of YouTube videos to watch I usually revert to browsing this board. Define your expectations for the group: Define or explain? And are you assuming my expectations for this group should be different from another? Or even the rest of the currently existing groups? My expectations for this group are the same for every other group. Why do you want to join? I don't expect to be accepted. List at least (3) of your most active sections with both threads and posts you have contributed: Why is the number three in parenthesis, exactly? (Instead of being spelled out like it should be.) That aside, virtually the only section I post decently helpful posts in are the C/C++ and general Coding sections. Look at my posts in those sections and pick out any posts you deem "helpful" because I don't know what the definition has morphed into today. I prefer to stray away from the normal application guidelines and just speak from my mind.
I currently plan on releasing a series of guides on HF throughout various sections, similar to this one here I have published: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5517875 I would consider myself to be pretty experienced on various subjects such as business, crypto currency, etc. I have a registered business in the US and would love to help out others as much as I can on this forum. I do my best to post and help others as much as I can, but I will admit a lot of the times I mostly just lurk on HF.
