[Very Slow, laggy and sometime freezing] Possible driver problem? (Not infected)

I have a newly build PC for about 2months and all of the sudden the past two days have been a performance nightmare.

As title states, it has been slow, laggy and freezing when trying to load something on it.
It will not let me update my Geforce driver and Adobe reader.

I ran a malware scan, nothing came up.
CClearer... all good.
Ran AV scan using Avast free, which took ages 3hr 6% (wtf).
So, i quit that shit... will run again a day i'm not using pc.
Scanning with RougeKiller now, hoping it will tell me something.

Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem as you because the hard drive got too old (15 years old)
I had blue screens of death constantly and the computer was running extremely slow
I'm still using my old hard drive but now I'm running on linux which performs much better and runs much faster than win 7

but anyway your HDD should be fine since you bought it 2 months ago
I think your system is just a bit corrupt I would not call it a hardware problem yet
I suggest you backup your files and reinstall windows
or use system restore (if you have a restore point) go a few weeks back
Did you try those programs i named?

The serial keys are for Driver Booster 4 so you can unlock full program...
Hi, to begin with I would suggest scanning your system for corrupt files and scanning your SSD for errors.

Scan for corrupt system files:
1. Open elevated Command Prompt
2. Type "sfc /scannow"

Scan your SSD:
1. Open elevated Command Prompt
2. Type "chkdsk /f /r c:" where "c" is the drive letter

Something else that usually might be able to fix this issue is updating Windows, also look at your computer resources to see if something is consuming an unusual amount of resources.

My HDD is actually about 4years old and my SSD is 1yr old.
Don't think my HDD would cause this.
But then again this happened randomly...

I don't even use my SSD and i'v had it for over a year LOL.
Doubt it's that...

As for scanning my HDD, i'v had it been going all night and i'm 90%.
This may be as slow as my Avast scan lol.

dont bother with the SDD, it should be fine since it's non-mechanical and it's not where your OS is located
do a check disk command on your HDD
Code
chkdsk /f C:

/f Fixes errors on the disk

if your system does not improve after that maybe you should look for a restore point (your windows computer should have one)

Sorry, I just assumed you have Windows on your SSD. The first scan didn't scan your HDD, it scanned your system files. You should re-run the second command again with the drive letter of your HDD.

I'v restarted and been on it for about an hour now and seem to be fine.
I don't know how this worked, or what was gone...
But i'm pretty sure it's fixed now.

Thank you.

It is most likely your HDD had a bad/corrupted sector. When you restarted your PC did you see the result log after is finished?

Nope, it just restarted and i logged in and mess around for a bit to see if it was still happening.
If i was supposed to get a log maybe i did something wrong?
Whatever i did seemed to work... for now.
