Quite pathetic, I must say.

Sad to see someone causing such huge losses of funds, no matter who bought it.

I hope they can somehow get their money back, whether it be filed in an official manner or not.

Called it. I tried to make it clear on his other thread that domains can be jacked as I had a gut feeling this was the case.
