[NEW MEMBERS READ] The Beginner's Guide to Hackforums by Angelus

The Beginner's Guide to Hackforums

Introduction

Hello there! You are most likely reading this on account of you being a noob/beginner here at Hackfourms.net 👍

My name is Angelus, and I have been registered on HF for exactly (according to the time in which this thread was made) 193 days. While there are many more members with signifigantly higher "stats" and longer time here, I thought that I would make this thread because it only seems fair to be sharing advice from a person who is fairly new himself, my empathy persey 😁.

You may or may not automatically think, "he has EP1C and UB3R, plus three awards! No way this guy is new!" and to that I say, I have definitely worked for 'em. You other members who know me possibly may also say, "You haven't made any signifigant contributions to this site! While we have donated hundreds!" and to you folks I say, One... this thread is my way of giving back and two, congrats on your donations, you have made this site pretty damn great! 👍.

In this thread, or... guide, I will be providing advice on the "moral" side of how to act here, and I will be covering attitudes you should have, and ways you should treat your new family.

Please enjoy 🤝🤝

"HACK"

First of all, you should have read the Help Docs, and you should have a good idea of what the rules are, almost everything you want/need to know will be here. If you have not read them, I suggest you do so at this moment. Now, let's begin. This site you are on, if you show your dedication and time to, will be a benefcial and fun experience for you and the thousands of other users active daily. I have come up with an acronym for the 4 basics you should show on here:

Have respect
(be)Adamant to wrongdoing
(show)Compassion
(don't be a)Killjoy

In other words... "HACK" and if you aren't here to do the other kind of hacking, then at least learn this kind.

Comandments

Many may have seen me say these things before, but I will say them again:

1) Do not buy e-books
2) dont be a douche if you dont want to be treated like one
3) dont whine about rep, its just a number
4) dont whine about rep, its just a number
5) dont be a shitty lounge troll, we have 4chan for that
6) have a good sense of humor
7) dont take shit so seriously, goes with ^^^
8) be friendly, it pays off one way or another (How I got my upgrades, awards, etc.)
9) have fun, we arent all blackhat hackers, so dont set your expectations so high for yourself or others

They are simple enough for you to learn and follow, hopefully you will take most of these into consideration.

Humor

One of the biggest things that define you on here (in my opinion) is your ability to take jokes, and give them as well... not only does humor apply to here, but to real life as well. It is something that can make or break you, so balance it wisely, and do not under any circumstances flame members, there is a difference between satire and bullying, I suggest you learn it before squealing that someone is a Fag or how all Catholics are child molesters, show Compassion 🤝.

Respect

Sucking dick and showing respect are two different things, lets get that straight first. If you see an admin, or member with a noticeable gain over your "knowledge", especially about the site, then either back off, or agree to disagree. If you have a strong opinion about something, stay vigilant, but do not resort to flaming or degrading just because an opinion differs from yours, this applies in real life as well.

Repuatation

And finally (for now) we will talk about the scary little number below your join date, reputation. Here are a few distinct rules about rep:

1) Do not ask for it
2) Do not asskiss for it
3) Do not whine about it if it is red

If you want to post in The Marketplace you'll have to have aquired and kept a rep of +1, rep should never be expected for doing something, but you'll have a higher chance of getting it if you follow those Nine Comandments above. It is a fairly simple concept to grasp, you... if you're a regular member cannot give any reputation at all, if you are L33T you may give neutral rep or +1 rep, and if you are UB3R you may give in a range of -3 to +3 rep to any member except admins/staff. Remember that it is JUST A NUMBER and will not define you as a person, but it may influence choices that other members make with you. If you are to deal with a member with ANY kind of repuatation, click on the number and read through the rep they have, reasons matter... they could have 300 positive rep, but 100 neutrals stating that they are a scammer, you never know.

This is the end of my guide so far, it is my first contribution the this community that I love dearly (yes I get it, sounds gay) and I hope you'll have gained knowledge from it, there will be more to add soon

May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor 🤝🤝

Would appreciate any kind of response from you guys, it would really help me out

Awesome thread & much help to new members as myself. Thumbs ups!👍
Enjoyed the format of the read. Pretty dope, mate :)
My hat used to be somewhere along the border of being grey but over the past few years, I realized my calling is to learn and help others out in ways that I can ethically. Learn as much as you can, experience, grow, educate, and throw yourself in uncomfortable situations.

Indeed, it is why I thought it would be great for me to write this, so I could show my understanding better to the new members.

If you want to let others know you're for them, you have to let them know you were them at some point, still am lol
