Mining

Average Electrical Costs?

I was looking to start a rig for a bit of side cash as I have made quite a bit on pumps. I was wondering what electrical costs would have to be to make decent profit or any profit at all and what are the electrical prices for those of you who mine?

In my opinion, I don't think mining is profitable anymore. Also, it depends where you live.
.
It is all based on what you are spending on power. No way to really change it I believe. Where i live it is 10 cents per Kw/h which is on the very cheap side in my country and it would still take me a year to profit if mining.

Mining is a gamble and an investment. Don't expect to see profit for 6-12 months. I am currently ordering parts to build my first rig. I would say that around 15 cents US per KWH is maximum. Also you need to take into consideration your hashing power versus power draw at the wall. There is heaps of discussion about mining power consumption online. Mining Calculator

My state is $0.13 would you say this is profitable or average? What is yours?

Well I'm from Australia and I'm paying around 20 cents AUD per KWH.

$.13 will be profitable.

You also need to take into consideration that some of the newer gpu's pull a fuck load less power but still produce comparable hash rates. In particular the rx480.

Great to hear, I am looking to invest into some of these gpu's and will research up onto the models that are designed for mining. Thanks :p

My country is 0.08USD per KWH.

Depends on your country,

if you know how much power you will be using, maybe use a calc, like
