Boromir was my favorite character, because he was the youngest warrior in the fellowship and the most heroic. A mere mortal that was seduced by the power of the ring but at the end overpowered it. Also Sam was a solid character, loyal to Frodo and a realist. He had to execute Smeagol when he had the chance though.
