I have forget the name of an anime I watched a lot of time ago. I still remember what was it about though, maybe someone have watch it too and knows the name.

The anime was created probably 6 years ago maybe more. The duration of the anime is of around 60 minutes each chapter and there are only around 4 or 6 chapters. There are a lot of samurai battles, 3d battles with computerized effects. The story is located in modern Japan.
Here it is what I remember of it:

Spoiler (Click to View)A new police gets assigned to the paranormal department. His boss is an eccentric old man who has the idea that the spirits of Japan, kamis (were they called kamis or do they have another name? Edited: Youkais) exists and are actually killing people.
The new police considers his boss is nuts, but that's actually happening.
Turns out every city of Japan is protected by a person elected based on his virtues after he/she dies. Each one of them protect the city from evil kamis and get supernatural powers and armor and samurai weapons.
But one of these protectors has become corrupt and started a revolution to destroy humanity. Aided by the new technology created by humanity he is conspiring and making deals with politicians to destroy it, enslave it and only allow a few of them to survive. He fights protectors which doesn't join him.

Every protector has a spirit partner who decides what human will protect each city. The spirit partner of the corrupt protector tries to find a new one to stop the old one. The chosen one is an ex yakuza (he killed his own brother and group leader of the yakuzas). He starts fighting the evil kamis without any power but only firearms, till the corrupt protector starts the revolution and kamis are seen by normal people. Then when he is going to die trying to defend people he gets supernatural powers and resurrects.

Help me watch it again 😕
Thanks to anyone who answers.

Is not Gintama and doesn't appear in that list sadly (at list in the category samurai). The anime has lot's of computerized effects, specially at battles (sometimes doesn't look like normal anime). Thank you though.

Yeah, it's a cool anime.

Another thing I remember about it that called my attention is the appearance of Siamese cats through the anime.

[HandiApp]

it sounds like Stiens Gate or Psycho Pass.
