I believe militants have better things to achieve than an award on a tech-related forum (with absolutely no relation to military). Not to forget that this forum has people from several countries, not just United States and for different countries there would be different documents, meaning more work for Omni and it's very possible that there will be some people with forged documents which Omni may catch and end up getting annoyed, knowing that he's not too hard to annoy. As much as I respect soldiers, I think this is just kinda stupid to have on a forum completely unrelated to the military.

Also, to deal with the concern on photoshopping documents, anyone found trying to photoshop documents as proof or buying fake documents will simply have their account closed and/or reported?
I'm sure Omni can go through a fool-proof method of verifying servicemen and women.
Well, I admit I can not say I know how it works in the US, but in Canada the Military is treated as a Public service, being it is paid for by the tax payers, pretty much all general information is public record. Including Active and Former soldiers. Anyone can simply take my service # and call them up and ask to run a verification if the service number matches up with the name.
Would this prevent fraud for an award? No, but I think it would be pretty damn stupid to try that, being forgery of Military paperwork is a federal crime, pretty much anywhere.

So, in discussion It was thought, well why is this ONE award so specific. Or is it specific enough?
The general proposal is simple.
The Militant Award should be awarded to Current/Former service members o the military.
There is enough of us kicking around here. If we can show our service documents, and I am sure none who desire the award have an issue producing some kind of proof to verify they are who they say they are.
I believe this would be a better use of the award, than it currently is utilized for.
Opinions?
I agree 100%.
Should be awarded to thank anyone who is serving or has served in the past.
It's be a cool idea, but would require a lot of Omni's time to look over documents. Also, different countries have different types of documents so this would probably be biased towards US militants rather than those of other countries. I think it'd be cool to see, but would require a lot of work for whoever would be giving out the award to verify that the documents are true.
Well it worked for me so.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Couldn't like anyone fake that they're in the service?

Aren't you happy you served for your country? The respect, opportunity and heart? But you feening for an award?
Come on man.

Also serving your country should be enough honor, you don't have to show off everywhere you go, not everyone gives a shit.
This. Should be kicked out just because you do want this special attention. Fuck outta here.

Again, that is a federal crime.

Not an argument. Just seems like a much better purpose for that specific award.

You sound like you fired BB guns at squirrels best said.
Provide your service #, nut up or shut up.

I think my point was made, those who served really have no issue providing proof.
I already did, and can provide more on request. Nick (Name) was already awarded this on his behalf of service, and the factual reason I opened the thread, so a point has been made.
I am glad Omni does recognize his fellow service members. 🤝
So I'm guessing this only applies to people in the US?

Suppose this would be Omnis call.
The question has been raised as to how to verify from foreign countries already.
Maybe lets start with NATO friendly nations?
Those documents are all very easy to verify, hell I can myself lol.🤐
