Award Suggestion: "Militant Award"

"The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 is a United States federal law that was passed by the 113th United States Congress."

It's a felony.
I only do deals onsite through PM's/Contracts.
I do not use Discord, or Skype, or talk to members offsite whatsoever.

Some dumb fuck tried to pull that in Canada last remembrance day, got on the news and shit.

Funny how service members Quickly realized his irregularities.

Your either part of the service, or you are not, it really is that simple.
Those who served can IDENTIFY the others, by mannerism and attitude alone.

\\Edit:
For those wondering, he was charged in Military court and sentenced to 5 years.
Wasn't there a member that got exposed on here a few years back for faking his service?
I'm indifferent on this suggestion, however it does seem that military folks want to be recognized at every turn. And I mean every single turn. Even down to a little 24x24 image in a forum. "We should be recognized." Thank you all for your service, but every facet of your life doesn't have to include recognition for you in some way.

Military service members are praised and recognized all the time. The benefits are outstanding. They deserve much of it, but it's gotten to the point where they are treated like they're somehow above, better than, or superior to everyone else. I've been thinking about joining the military, and I don't think I'd want people bowing at my feet for my service. Everybody has a role they play to keep a country running. Yes, militants are more directly put into harms way, which is absolutely commendable, but they certainly couldn't do it without the engineers who make their weapons, the intellects who design the strategies, or those who provide their food. We all need each other, and the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely respect service members. I understand that when I need help, the first people I would call are the police, and broadened to a national level that'd be the military. I'm just saying that not every single element of their lives should be devoted to praising them in some way. Seems a bit narcissistic, when the truly great ones are humble. They get what they deserve and don't ask for even more.

If Omni decides he wants to deal with PM's and verification then more power to you. Good luck on getting this implemented.

That was actually a fantastic read and great insight. I agree you with 100%.
Ehh I don't think it's a bad idea however I don't think Omni would have the time to go over all them I know you said that he goes over testimonials which he used to do but not anymore.
Would be cool to see this added. Good suggestion Armada/Nick.

This^

I respect it, fighting for your country and have the pride to do it. But everyone helps each other in a way, from taxes, from protection, and working together. Again, some people can say "hey, it was your decision" but hey, without any help from all of us, we will be nothing.

I'm completely unfamiliar with this stuff.

Anyone who served/serves should have a military ID.

Quote:The Militant Award should be awarded to Current/Former service members o the military.

I am not going to require identity to be revealed on HF for an award. And unless I did, members would fake it for awards.

Also, the award wasn't created for those who served.
