I never heard that from one of my admirers before. 😎 I'll edit my thread for just the ryzen topic since we both posted it seconds apart. Rather than by a new GPU for my son I think I'll give him my current 980Ti and get a 1080Ti for myself, just got to wait till they are available.... Another $1k spoken for I guess. If it was the first to be able to handle 4K at any fps i'd agree, but they've been at it to get 4K available the same way 1080p is. This card should be great. Well it's technically not the first, lots of cards can run 4k, hell even the iGPU on Intel's CPU's can run it, but this is the first to be able to put out 60 FPS fairly consistently.... The 1080 only could do 45 FPS consistently in 4K..., you have to SLi 1080's to get 70ish FPS.

The Titan XP could, but it's far to expensive @ $1200-$1300, it takes e-peen to a whole next level... This is the first reasonably priced card to do it. (Mar 9, 2017 12:21 PM)shreder Wrote: but is 60fps really enough? Idk but 60fps is choppy for me now. Considering many consoles are still locked to 30fps at 1080p, clearly it's enough for many people to play games. 60fps is sufficient for game playing. Ideally I'd like twice my monitors refresh rate in terms of FPS, but that's not needed to have a good time. |
