They do get closed down but they migrate hosting seamlessly. I hope they get fucked over eventually.

I want to think Japan secretly supports the illegal anime industry.

I do too, but illegal streaming sites are partially what keeps the industry remotely alive. There is only a few legal outlets and their libraries are very limited.

I'd need some pretty solid stats to get behind that honestly. Anime survived (in the west) with non-profit orgs. Most of the subs they fork are non-profit as well.
I definitely get that CR doesn't get everything and why people use KA, but there's def better alternatives.
i don't want them to close i watch all my anime on kissanime

BUT its just cus i don't have the money for a crunchyroll account i would love to support anime makers but yea its hard when you don't have the cash xd

Anime only survived in the west because of major networks like Toonami in the earlier days. But the amount of anime we received was very limited in comparison to Japan. Even now the amount of anime we receive is quite minimal. You can look at the anime we received overall and it is actually quite depressing in comparison to how many anime there actually are. It was thanks to organizations like CR and Funimation that made reaching out possible. Even now they are trying to bring more anime to the west, but I know one of their big problems has been dealing with licensing. Because of that they are only able to get in so much, hoping they can profit from it after purchasing the rights to stream it for X amount of time, whilst also giving us wonderful hard copies. I want to think that right now the legal organizations just don't have the right financial backing to give us everything though -- plus Japan can be a bit stingy. It was thanks to illegal streaming that people were able to watch anime that had been lost in time, and because of that ratings have increased, and more light had been shed upon anime that had long since been forgotten in time. In these recent years I would say a lot of new-popular anime wouldn't be nearly as popular because of illegal sites being globally accessed. I mean the rest of the world wasn't as fortunate as the west, and even then we don't have everything popular.
People say we are to blame for watching it however when you look at it and how its spread over here we could be helping it more.
theres really just no reason to pay for crunchy roll imo when everything i have interest in on there is available for free elsewhere tbh
because none of them are in USA and they dont bother major players (MPAA etc) too,so best funimation/vizmedia/CR do is send them google DCMA and they simply change domain and it just goes on and on and on...

i do own some anime sites myself.
DMCA ignored hosting. Or they have many layers or protection hiding there servers

Exactly the chain of logic that keeps illegal streaming sites alive and honestly I don't see anything wrong other than the legality of it
You can also support Japan by buying gundams ;)

I'd always just go legal with crunchy roll. High quality and no glitches and interruptions. If you're really into anime, crunchyroll would be a great investment for all you otakus.

Illegal streaming sites offer Full HD, no glitches and no interruptions also no adds with more variety with no investment.
www.masterani.me is lit, pretty sure it's ran from someone here on HF as well, saw it here once and have used it ever since :^)
