Adjustments will be made as needed and if this doesn't work out then I just change them back to blocks.

In case anyone is wondering why I finally unblocked them. It's more about how HF activity is more and more involved in the crypto currency world. It represents a lot of potential for new activity and growth on the site. Both China and Russia are emerging markets. It's mostly China but Russia I think is going to have growth in the sector as well.

The crypto section has definitely seen an increase in activity over the past few months.

Maybe time to add a sub and some cool crypto features?

That alert feature is a good idea, it'd definitely help reduce potential scams that might take place.

X amount of time online and x amount of posts would be nice to see happen. It'd stop the new members that get rep right away and then scam/ try to scam.

I think this is a change for the better. It will definitely increase activity and the amount of users who stick around.
I hope this change won't give to many complications to staff to do their job, I'm confident they'll be more then able to keep HF clean though!

They can't until they get a positive rep. I may set it for more reputation like 5 or even 10. I can also use Prestige formula for certain sections.

I think 5 or 10 might be a bit better to stop the multi accounters from repping each other to gain access. Not much we can do if an ub3r throws a +3 their way knowing who they are, but when they have 0 post l33t accounts repping them to get marketplace access it'll help.

Overall I think it's a huge opportunity for the forum, 8 years is a long time and hopefully Chinese and Russian based individuals can come expand their knowledge here on HF.

I'm sure we will get a few more threads/posts with Chinese characters as to be expected but hopefully the good will outweigh the bad.

I'm all for giving this a shot, the boosted amount of activity on the forum will be nice. The prestige requirement on the marketplace would also be good to see, I see no problem in making those that want to sell products or services on Hack Forums work a little for the privilege.
