I literally just downloaded league for the first time two weeks ago and I seem to be gravitating towards Nasus top lane solo or Sona/Lulu bottom for support. Can I climb with these and is there potential in being good with them or should I focus on other champs?
How bad are these champs to main |

Nasus isn't really the champion you should be going for top lane if you're new to the game.
Sona/lulu should be fine, lulu is better imo. Any support with healing and shields is strong. You should look for easy mechanical champions and learn the game from there. No need to put yourself at a disadvantage. Honestly try picking up Annie mid, forgiving mana cost with her last hit Q and simple to play yet strong/effective. I've seen pretty strong Nasus' but I seem to be lacking when it comes to Q stacking. Especially against match ups like Pantheon/Sion/Teemo. I find Annie to be pretty strong as well if the person knows what they are doing and that big ass teddy bear can be pretty dangerous. I think support is pretty easy and I'm better with Lulu but I find Sona to be more useful in team battles even Karma, but Lulu is a great support IMO for ADC's. There's actually a new build that came out a while back that focuses less on stacking q. You need to be able to know when to group and when to split push. Lulu is obnoxious since she can peel so hard with her poly, ult and enhanced auto shields. Karma is also very good since she can provide the entire team with move speed shields. Plus she has good harass in lane with cc. For support you should check out Nami. Her healing is dumb as hell. (Jun 17, 2017 07:55 PM)X X X X Wrote: Yeah you need to understand wave control for Nasus. I guess I'll try out some new champions and keep my options open till I've found some easier ones I'm comfortable with and get to know the game better. What level are you? You can use these websites to properly play the champions: http://www.probuilds.net/champions - shows every recent build from every pro player that played the selected champion https://na.op.gg/champion/statistics - gives you statistics on build path win rates Once you get comfortable playing and want to get serious I advise using this ressource: https://www.youtube.com/user/lastshadow9 He's a coach for a pro team and is very knowledgeable about the game. Countless videos of coaching sessions in every elo for a multitude of champions. However be prepared as they are very long. No ranked game all normals blind picks. Mostly do the same in games unless the teams entirely fucked and full of idiots. Thanks for the resources. Will definitely check them out tonight when I'm working on some designs. 🤝
Anything is viable from Bronze - Diamond so you can main anything you want really. Once you get to a decent rank you should start learning matchups and playing things that are actually in the meta/what pro players play.
Nasus is fine, just split push and farm until you can 1 shot people with your Q stacks. Sona is pretty bad in my opinion, shes so squishy and there are too many items that counter out healing now. Lulu is good because she utilises shields over pure healing, so grievous wounds items can't negatively affect her. Her ultimate is also great for saving and protecting your team-mates where they would otherwise die. I'm pretty sure she is meta at the moment and I ban her every game because she is so annoying.
Nasus is actual utter shit, I kid you not.
I have literally won numerous 4v5s simply because the enemy had a Nasus and we can just stomp the enemy team as if it were a 4v4, don't put yourself at a disadvantage from the get-go. You should look into Pantheon, Galio, Garen, Darius. Those champions have a great learning curve and they still offer relative competitiveness. (as far as supports you're good to go, until you reach the level of play where Lulu is banned 80% of the games) (Jun 17, 2017 08:26 PM)test Wrote: Anything is viable from Bronze - Diamond so you can main anything you want really. Not all champions are easy to understand and easy to play.
If you want you want to try an ability power carry try out : Annie or Ahri (shes a bit harder since you have to land your skillshots, but with some practice shes isnt that hard) If you want to be a tank try out: Nunu jungle, Poppy top, amumu jungle, rammus jung If you want a Attack Damage champ try out: tryndamere top/jung, jax top/jung, warwick top/jung, master yi jung If you want an adc bot lane try out: Tristana, Caitlyn, Ezreal or Sivir For support go for: Sona, Soraka, Morgana Something like this, you can always play a champion you like. If you practice enough you could play any champ. But these ones are really easy to understand and to play with.

Don't expect to get placed any higher than silver once you've reached level 30 and start playing ranked.
So much bs in the same thread
1. If you have any game sense at all you'll be placed gold 3+, everyone under gold 3 are trolls or autistic 2. Nasus is fine but in the current meta(Kennen, Fiora, Renekton) you will be shit on if you're facing a meta laner 3. Lulu is the strongest support as for now and Sona is in the top 3 for solo queue dependant on your marksman Keep playing, practice minimap awareness and prediction in the fog of war. Mechanics are not close as important |
