DDoS Attacks against a user in the same subnet.

Turns out someone I want to DDoS is in the same subnet as me, the only difference in our IP's are the last digits, but I'm afraid if I RAM their IP since I'm on the same subnet I'll end up fucking up my own connection as well. I understand routing, and all. Any suggestions. They're not on the same network, just the same ISP

EX:
My IP XXX.XXX.XXX.12
Their IP: XXX.XXX.XXX.55
Assuming you're only hitting his home connection, not the dns, you should be fine.
Test hit him for a few minutes and see if it affects you in anyway, if not, let lose on him
Hit his public IP address assigned to his port. Not sure what method you want to use, but just focus on his WAN.
