It was all I'd ever do when I was younger. I'd sit for hours writing stories and such.

Never was big on poetry until recently however. Convenient way to convey a message without having to push out paragraph after paragraph.

I totally get it. I hated writing, to be honest. I just could never focus on pumping out page after page on a topic I didn't choose or even like for school.
