Any good metal band/album suggestions?

Hey all,

I'm currently looking for some new material to listen to.

Genres I'm looking for (no elitism, simply categorization):
  • Death (Melodic & Traditional)

  • Black (Symphonic works too)

  • Thrash

  • Doom

I'll list some bands I enjoy, just to give a decent range of what I'm looking for:
  • Amon Amarth

  • Pallbearer

  • Bathory

  • Cannibal Corpse

  • Lamb Of God

  • Slayer

  • Heaven & Hell

  • Behemoth

  • Firespawn

  • Warbringer

  • Malevolent Creation

Looking forward to seeing what you guys are enjoying at the moment.

Thanks for any responses. 🤝

I do indeed. They're probably the highest priority band I want to see live at some point.

Damn Germans and their artillery... 🤣

have you heard of the $uicideboy$? they have a style of rap/metal. I'm sure you've heard of their name before, but listen to "Exodus" by them on their youtube (G*59 Records)

I've listened to some of their work, still undecided on whether or not I fully appreciate them. I'll probably have to listen to more.

However, I'm looking for more "extreme" bands.

Thanks for the song suggestion though, I can't say I've listened to that one. 🤝

I'm very partial to Thy Art & some Carnifex. However most of those seem like new territory to me.

I saw While She Sleeps in Leeds a couple of years back, got a photo with them too somewhere. Great band overall.

I appreciate the list, thanks a lot. 🤝

Can't say I've ever heard of these guys, but I can safely say I'm hooked now.

Considering they're Metal Blade, I can imagine it won't be too much of a struggle to get some CD's my way.

Thanks for the great recommendation. 🤝

I first heard and saw them when they opened for Amon Amarth a couple years back.. I have saw them live a few times since, and every show the lead singer brings his kid out to wave to the crowd. They are an amazing band, they sound even better live.

If you are interested in melodic folk metal, more of my collection is that than what you are asking for.

I'll listen to these soon. I'm happy to listen to folk metal, feel free to send me a list in PM's or something.

Thanks for the response. 🤝
If you want some new tastings, i don't really listen to those that often but i guess it fits the category i created.

Alestorm - pirate metal(tho I'm surprised that it exists).
Sabaton - war metal.

Cant remember more.

I enjoy both bands, especially Sabaton:
