1988 called, they want their software back.
IRC is so exploitable, you can't even imagine, most people nowadays just use XMPP or TOR Related Services
I sometimes come around and poke a few threads before leaving for a few months again.

Although you're correct, I haven't been active in the mIRC since way back (When i was still playing SA:MP).

IRC is fine as long as you don't have exploits on your client, which is quite rare considering how simple IRC protocol is when it comes to client <-> server part.
You can run the client in a VM if you are really paranoid since its highly unlikely that you will get pwned by a VM escape bug at the same time of which there aren't many and people wont waste 0days that easily. OT: I would look in freenode and rizon. Honestly i haven't encountered any noteworthy ones that would be quite active. Don't call IRC as a whole "so exploitable" when all you know is that a single client was exploitable at a certain period in time. IRC servers are still alive and well, don't be so ignorant. It's as secure as you're going to get outside of OTR/PGP.

Lol I thought IRC was okay surely if it was so bad people would not be connecting with it lol and as for XMPP and Tor services ive been there and used them they are annoying and I wanted something to just quickly connect to in the command line for example the irssi you just type your server and port and connect :)
I want to be just using the command line in general more and more for pretty much everything I was running IRC on root.... :pppp (Aug 17, 2017 02:27 PM)ernestmiller Wrote: Lol I thought IRC was okay surely if it was so bad people would not be connecting with it lol and as for XMPP and Tor services ive been there and used them they are annoying and I wanted something to just quickly connect to in the command line for example the irssi you just type your server and port and connect :) reminder to use w3m to browse the web with your terminal too not kidding i actually use it unironically its pretty good for browsing /g/ lul

I don't think any real hackers use IRC, especially not to communicate about hacking!
It's either: 1. 1on1 IM (XMPP+OTR) 2. 1on1 Email (PGP) 3. Group Forum (TOR) (Aug 17, 2017 03:10 PM)Elitas Wrote: I don't think any real hackers use IRC, especially not to communicate about hacking! TOR->IRC is how it's done.
