My friend is employed at a company who currently owns several domains, except one. The one domain they don't own is owned (by a John Doe) and being used to slander my friend's company (when you contact them looking to use the service my friend's company offers).
My friend has spoken with lawyers and was told legal action is difficult and is not worth it for the cost.
I have done a whois search on John Doe's website and it is registered by GoDaddy and has the URL privacy feature enabled where all the registrant and admin information is replaced with DomainByProxy's information.
We were hoping to do something to mess with John Doe's website or mess with John Doe to send a message. We have thought of DDoS attacks but that will only temporarily bring down his website and doesn't really send much of a message.
What would be the best approach here? We are willing to pay a fee if necessary.
Thanks
