Reasons why I haven't been playing osrs

- Can't shake the feeling that I'm wasting my time. Clicking on things to make numbers go up for hours upon hours per week is not satisfying anymore. I only find myself playing long consistent sessions when I'm depressed or upset about something.

- I barely have any close friends that play much anymore. When I log in it's 100% solo play unless I'm bankstanding with a buddy once ina while. I know I can make friends, but most of the community is an obnoxious normie fest and I can't find a good reason to speak to the vast majority of people I encounter in-game. Sort of harsh but it's how I feel.

- Husting the streets for cash so I can buy a new pc

List your reasons for being absent from the rat race below
No IRL friends that play is probably the main reason. I remember back in the day getting home from school and seeing all your friends log on made it so much more fun, in fact, 99% of games are more fun with friends playing. The content was starting to get a bit stale for me too. I tried making a few different accounts with different builds but it all felt the same to me. PKing was pretty much out of the question because Australian servers weren't out.
I'm with you on the first one. I gained a lot of $ in past week and now I'm starting to care less about alot of things.
RS is one of them.. I couldn't stand wasting a day not playing OSRS.
Things have changed now...
I hop on for an hour or two a week just to get a few kills and die a lot in BH. It's not fun anymore, I don't know how that many users are still heavily intrigued in the game. Just baffles me.
It's still enjoyable to me because I've never really gotten to high level content. When I was young I didn't know what the hell I was doing, but now that I do, it's entertaining to play. I do wish I had more people to play with though because like you guys said, it makes a huge difference.

For me it's the exact opposite lol.

When I was younger, I enjoyed the game so much more, everyone I knew IRL played runescape and it was exciting to explore the world of runescape. Now no one ever plays, people in game are toxic, you know everything about the game, all the fun is gone....
Currently I'm still managing to keep myself interested in the game, but that's mostly because my new money maker is making the game feel like a damn private server. I can pay for buyables faster than I can spend my money.

When I don't play though it's usually because I have to (should) do something that I really don't enjoy, like getting the mining outfit which is something I should do, but is boring as fuck. When I'm not enjoying myself I feel like the game is a waste of time, but then again I don't have a lot else going on.
I agree with the time wasting feeling. Every time I'm drawn back into the game, it generally comes from an intense feeling of nostalgia. I think that when we were younger (or for me at least), we didn't have as many responsibilities or any serious priorities. I really do begin to feel like I'm throwing time away.

The community has also changed drastically. The constant trolls in the friends' chats, bots and RWT'ers (Though I've been guilty myself) haven't cultivated the same culture the game once had. I can't lie though, the first time logging on to Oldschool in a while, hearing the Lumbridge music always makes me a bit sad! Haha
I used to play runescape to escape reality.
But now I'm producing and writing, and it has become a daily thing for me.
It's more enjoyable for me to produce etc than play runescape.
Sometimes I log in, but I get bored quick.

Also if you feel like you're wasting your time when you play runescape, don't play it.
This is important.
You must surround yourself with something you enjoy doing in life.
Don't make yourself go depression or other shit when you can change it.
People who are on the top in the hiscores enjoy doing it. Unless you enjoy it, don't grind man.
Come to RS3 and you'll feel less like shit.
Can't be fucked with Jagex making shitty updates that benefit normie retards
Too depressed to watch numbers go up
Community is garbage, even HLC

I'll finish goals I have eventually but I don't even play atm, playing other MMOs.
Just going thru alot of personal issues, haven't had the time to think about rs..
Join an RSPS. It's actually a ton of fun. I'm playing Alora. OSRS is a ton of fun when it's not 100% grind.

But the grind is what makes the game fun. I only use p servers for pking shenanigans.
