This is interesting, never seen a fresh account get Plat IV straight out of placements. Did they remove the cap or something? It used to be Plat V from what I remember if you went 10-0.

Usually going around 9-0 should match you up around Plat 5 players, but I haven't seen anyone get past Plat 5 just from placements alone on a fresh account. It's just something new to me I guess.

Just boot your mmr by duo queueing with a gold 1-2 with decent mmr. So you win games againts higher rated people from game 1:)

I'm pretty sure by yourself you can't get above Plat V form going 10-0, he duoed with plat-diamond players which probably buffed his mmr and got him to plat IV.
