Ah ye that was the first ep in that OVA, there was an episode after it where Souma and the 7 other ppl from the tournament meet the Big 10 peeps that they show at the start of ep 1 in S3

Same, I'm seeing a few anime doing that now such as Boku no Hero. Idm a few short anime here and there but I think its a shame when some adaptations are ruined due to being constrained by half a season's worth of eps forcing a lot of the stuff from the manga to get constricted and ruins everything.
