Could someone recommend a high-quality Z370 gaming motherboard for this price range?

Can someone please recommend an extremely high build quality Z370 gaming motherboard with at least 2-way SLI compatibility for the $150-$200 range?

Thanks! I'll take that one into consideration.

Does having a really expensive motherboard improve system performance (particularly in gaming) in any way?

Do the ones that are around the $300-400 range just have advanced overclocking and BIOS features?

No effect in performance.

Not even advanced features for overclocking.

Most of the time it’s just LED’s and “bling”.

Some higher end board have more power phases that can help stabilize an overclock but at this point it’s not as important as it was with say Haswell/ Devils canyon.

Some boards will have metal supports around the PCIe spots to help prevent GPU sag, but nothing really performance changing.

What about motherboard lifespan and reliability?

Nope.
If lifespan and reliability is your main concern, you should look into ASUS TUF or Gigabyte Ultra Durable series of motherboards.

Is this a good bet?

What's the difference between the ultra gaming and the gaming 5?
