I don't remember a time when I did not. Currently using uBlock Origin after adBlock went to shit a year ago.

uBlock Origin or what ever the hell it's called, both on FF and Chrome. Used to have Adblock plus before but since they now have whitelisted adds...that's kinda fucked up, adblocker that shows adds...logic.

I use pi-hole for network wide ad-blocking. 
It work's awesome never have any issues.
