I would do my best to take legal action since it would be a lot easier than trying to take legal action across the country for someone scamming.

I'm honestly curious on how you'd go about this, esp if scammed on hf. I can't imagine the police giving a fuck about a situation like this. The only realistic actions would be taking action in person or letting it go.
