KillaMuvz sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for selling Cryptex crypter services

Goncalo Estevez AKA KillaMuvz sold Cryptex to hundreds of customers, including many users of this forum, believing he would be assisting them to infect unsuspecting victims with Remote Access Trojans and Botnet malware. Estevez admitted guilt following a joint investigation by the National Crime Agency and Trend Micro.

Deploying a Remote Access Trojan or infecting devices to build a botnet, are criminal offences in the UK under the Computer Misuse Act; it is also an offence to assist others to carry out such acts.

National Cyber Crime Unit's head of operations said 'he made a fair bit of money, but he'd probably have made much more, and certainly for longer, if he'd pursued a legitimate career in cyber security'.

That's really sad man. I really liked him and he looks like chris evans (atleast his lower face)
Yikes. Another one down the drain. I'm not too sure if allowing crypters and RAT's to be sold on HACKforums is a good idea. Unless you use it as a trap.

idk why but loved this part, never seen the risk in going blackhat if you can use your skills legally.
It's so crazy because I remember his product and thread. I am sure he didn't expect this to happen.

I thought he was already sentenced last year.

Going to give some simple advice to members. If a product or service you provide is illegal in your own jurisdiction then you may face real legal consequences.

I'll give a reasonable example. In NYC you are required to have the NY BitLicense to do certain crypto asset business either in NY or even with NY customers. As such many companies have disallowed NY customers. Another example is some financial companies don't want to do business with US citizens for risk of being extradited for financial crimes (ala Liberty Reserve).

Sadly a member of this forum had a legal issue and is now going to face consequences. I wish him luck and pray his future is brighter. I'm not sure if in UK they offer reduced sentences for good behavior or offer parole but I hope they do. And once he serves maybe he can start over use this experience for something good.
Someone at least photoshop OP a better avatar (Change the background to match HF's)
Can you hear my weed?

Would be awesome if they gave him the chance to use his abilities for the greater good, but unfortunately prison doesn't work that way.

Hopefully when he gets out he builds a better path for himself.
