I feel with the name "GamingFocus" you should focus on getting people involved in the Gaming section before trying to promote general discussions. You could cut down to just a "off topic" category, I think most people are going to come to your forum for gaming, so the off-topic forum will just be an added benefit.
When I first landed on your website I was really confused. All I seen was Announcements, Support, and feedback. The category tabs don't look like tabs and are a bit transparent so it took me a minute to realize there were tabs there. You could have people land on your gaming tab and get rid of the Main tab. By doing so you could add a "GamingFocus News & Announcements" forum in the category, while support and feedback could be subforums in it. Then after that will be all the gaming forums and you'll have the feel that you're landing on a gaming forum. Also category tabs look really cool but they are kind of pointless until you have tons of subforums, and it's best to start out with minimal tabs until you've grown.
Overall I think the simplistic design is pretty cool. You should get some content flowing through the forum so members will have conversations to join into. Good luck on the forum!
