Hello,

Doom is now open once again. Expect no more downtime.

Lots of things missing at the moment, or more so just tons of placeholders. All will be filled in, but I decided to do live updates instead of waiting months to years to finish things haha. Theme still being developed, as well as plugins but its stable enough to use.

Anyway, I welcome everyone to Doom and hope we can all enjoy it together.

The new header is pretty cool. However I liked the forum layout of the old theme. Anyway to see a screenshot of the old theme to compare? Seemed like you got a lot above the fold with the old theme.

I feel like this is where you'll lose users though, if you have something that ended up breaking functions, anyone who's new will see this and easily be turned away. It's better to have something actually ready and going, rather than quickly setup and now progressing on it. It can just be seen as lazy rather than someone who's actively developing, especially if you leave something half done and want to work on something else.

I don't mind really, if someone chooses to judge before reading or digging deeper then they can go. My idea for now is to develop live for people to see progress overtime and can give input. As well as I didn't want the community to die either since it's been down for development for a while already, you know?

Oh yeah, reason for that was I didn't intend on using the horizontal postbit so I didn't bother designing it. I forgot to force classic postbit but, it should be fixed now :)

Why don't you make a website about something unique? This site you've made has similar topics of discussion as HF does but offers nothing unique about it other than a cool theme (nice job).

Additionally, the site is dead, nobody is going to join a smaller website with the same topics as a large one. It seems as if 99% of forums in this section do exactly this, try to make a clone of HF with a different name, look and section names.

It's not really meant to be something that'll eventually be on the level of HF, initially the goal was just to form a small community for people to post on and feel free. I do have ideas that'll eventually make it more diverse from all other forums currently being posted up, but that'll take time.

Right now my goal is to get the theme/layout all put together, that way everything else will be much easier to add.

I'm really not much of a designer, and in fact this is one of my first really custom themes so yeah any input on what I can add onto it or remove to make it look cleaner and more enjoyable helps.
