ASUS GL702VI-MH72 17.3" 60Hz GTX 1080 Gaming Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.80Ghz, Win10H

Another Laptop deal from adorama :D
ASUS GL702VI-MH72 17.3" 60Hz Full HD Gaming Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.80Ghz, Win10H for 1540$
16GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080.
The only deal breaker I see , is 60 Hz Screen. So What do you think ? Use a dock and call it a deal ? or it is a bad deal ( for any other reason ) ?
eBay
Looks nice to great deal to me. Nice specs although I am quite interested in getting a spectre x360 the latest version but not sure how the mx150 is yet. Although I do not game much on laptop anyway and it would be mostly used for media creation

For media creation , I think you should consider Ryzen
Now that's some expensive shit ;)

I would just build a desktop computer that would dominate that little thing.

Expensive ? I can't find a better deal for a GTX 1080 Laptop.
It depends on what you use it for, especially if you move a lot .

I understand, but I just could not part with 1000$+ for a laptop. They are just a bitch to work on and get damaged to easily. Plus overheating issues if you don't keep up with maintenance.

This is more my style of laptop: 🤫

I know everyone has his own preferences, and I am with you If it is for pure gaming, Then I'd go for a desktop.
But taking me as an example, I need a powerhouse to run very heavy simulations, and be able to move with it.

What sort of simulations? Is this for school or work?

1080p screen for 17inch screen?

Crap deal, I wouldnt even buy it for $500 off

4k minimum. 120hz would be cool too.

4k is a gimmick
Its to expensive, I think build custom PC is more efficient

I agree but if you want portability you need a laptop.

The cancerous face of PCMR is right here. A monitor like that is practically 1/2 price of this laptop.
