Would you find HF more enjoyable if some forum game or interaction was involved?

I've had ideas to add various games/activities to HF which I would hope inspire members to be more involved and active.

Example concepts:

1. Crypto Market Exchange - Fake exchange for top portfolio each month with a winner who gets an award.

2. Monster Game - Anyone remember this? https://hackforums.net/battle.php It was a teaser page when Pokemon Go was huge for about 10 minutes. I still think having some type of monster pet game on-site could be enjoyable. Maybe a bit too childish though, I can't be sure.

3. Gambling - Obviously not for real money but I could add some point system here which would allow additional choices for point-based games. And actually I used to do this on HF about 8 years ago when we did run a points system.

4. Fake Hacking - I could write up pages and scripts and making hacking member profiles or other things part of a game/challenge on HF or even across the web.


Does any of this sound of interest to members? Now that we're moving forward pretty quickly through projects I'd like to get more feedback on some of these concepts.

1 and 3 seem like they'd be good additions. A lot of people are interested in cryptos, so one I think would have the most interest and engagement.

I don't know if this would be possible but if you could setup an in game point system you were talking about and we could play blackjack and poker live against another. Again I have no clue if this is even possible at all but that would be awesome

I'm diggin' the idea of gambling for some HF points. It would be a good idea to spark some activity.

Points can be obtained by posting/creating a thread/etc, then can be gambled and later redeemed for prizes. Like maybe an award, or some other HF incentives. All sounds like fun to me.

Yeah that sounds good, purchase things like username changes if you aren't upgraded, or purchase an upgrade (obviously a lot of points needed).

On site gambling would be great, especially if the points had some sort of value on-site. Community funded jackpots and contests have been on my mind lately, but I saw that gambling on HF was against the rules - but if done with a point system it could be just as fun.

1 and 3 sounds nice to me. I think they will fit amazingly with the audience on HF. I am not sure about number 4 since most people that I know on HF are not really into hacking/coding but if it would be from extremely easy to hard I guess it can work too. I don't really have an opinion on option 2 since I am not sure what the idea is behind a monster game.

It's really nice to see that new features/things are being added to HF! I hope it'll be awesome.

Bustabit would be cool. But maybe coin flip etc? Between users. So they can kinda dual each other. Would be cool too.

Yeah I like that idea too. Hope you can buy things like awards with the credits if this gets added
