Julian Assange Cut Off

On March 28th, 2018 the Ecuadorian embassy that is giving Julian Assange asylum, they cut-off his internet access. Essentially crippling his ability to work and communicate with the world.

I was hoping with public outcry and support that it was a temporary measure. But it's been about 6 weeks and he's still unable to use the internet. I hope more can be done to show support for him and to pressure the government of Ecuador to return internet access to him.

Assange is the founder of Wikileaks and has been responsible for exposing many corporations and governments of wrongdoing.

If you're not aware of his situation or what he's done for our freedoms and against tyranny I suggest you take some time to read all you can. He's imho a hero and one of the few people who risk everything for the good of everyone.
That's a shame. I hope the situation fixes itself somehow.

I don't think it will. He needs public support and an outcry by the masses. He's been essentially a prisoner since 2012. That's 6 years. Can you imagine being in his position for that long?
Freedom taken away for exposing lies, what a world we live in.
can't believe I never heard about this until now. what a wild world we live in

I feel sorry. It must have been though. If they cut off his internet access and the situation was like that for 6 weeks, it probably won't get any better. It might get worse instead and something can be done to prevent it.
But, do people care? I doubt. Some people do, the very majority do not. Even the largest anti corruption page in Serbia didn't share his situation with us, so public isn't informed at all.
How can massess be motivated if they don't know about the issue?
I'm glad you shared this with us.
I remember when Wikileaks really just started taking off.. and now, no one even bothers. Honestly sad, but that's how things go.
There definitely needs to be some huge exposure to bring him out from the dirt
I wish him best of luck.

Gonna leave this here:

Never seen a better quote in my life. That shit's so true!
Why did the Ecuadorian government cut off his internet access tho?

I know he has a few things setup in case he were to disappear so it'll be interesting to see if he can get to his deadman in time or not.

They supposedly warned Julian about interfering with any governments who are friends of Ecuador. Basically this is just political pressure on Ecuador that finally worked for them to remove his internet. He's pretty screwed without it. He truly must feel like he's in a prison now.
America putting economic pressure on a country for granting asylum to a patriot like Assange is the definition of terrorism.

i'm surprised they let him have internet for 6 years. if the government knew he was gonna leak info, why didn't they cut off his internet on day 1? doesnt make sense to me.

also if he has electrical engineering experience, he should be able to figure out a way how to boot the internet back up, but i fear he doesn't have the resources to do so even if he has the knowledge.

i have no experience in this, but can the anonymous, the whitehat hackers help him boot it up? remotely somehow

Damn, that's fucked up. How can it be that he's (trying to) help so many people and now that he's being treated like this for doing it I didn't even know about it for 6 weeks, until you've posted it just now?
