XMPP user posing as Rotely on HF, contacted me for a deal and proceeded to try and scam me. Asked multiple times for verification and eventually confirmed with the real Rotely on HF that he does not use XMPP.

Most definitely, it's very sad that members are getting scammed by imposters, especially when it takes less than 5 minutes to confirm you're dealing with 'real' member, not imposter.

This just isn't XMPP any type of messenger type programs have imposter's people have been doing this for years.

The large amount of XMPP servers makes threads like this pretty pointless in terms of pointing out specific imposter accounts. However, it's a good example of why you should confirm deals on site. Good job op.
