Hello fellow users, I recently became interested in cyber security, and have since started working with various programs and software to learn basic hacking. I've been involved in a few forums, and after asking for the explicit permission of several friends they let me mess around with password crackers to try to hack their accounts. The problem is, I have no idea how to do this. I've seen some basic guides, but I don't really know where to start.

Any advice?

Brute force attacks are some of the hardest to complete, not to mention most time-consuming. You can certainly experiment, but most hackers will opt for social engineering through fake logins, keyloggers, etc. A lot of free guides here on HF to do it all. Just scan all the threads/posts and utilize the search feature at the top of the site.

I have a list of things I do whenever trying to hack accounts.

1. Keylogger
They're simple and easy to set up. Most come with email based logging systems so it's easy to see when
a specific phrase is typed (username for example) or whatever the time interval you set is.

2. RAT
A little more hands-on in a sense that there are more tools and ways to do it. Most have a pre-built keylogger
in the program but is way less lightweight than a standalone. You can do more with this, though.

3. Bruteforce
You need a powerful machine and a fantastic proxy list + changer if you want it done quick.
Aside from that, it takes time and it sucks to try and find what a failed login code looks like on most popular sites.
And aside aside from that, need a good passlist. Like really good.

4. Plug a flash drive into a charger wall block and call it a day.

How would one go about installing the keylogger onto someones computer? Send it as a link and have them download it? I don't have access to email, I'm trying to do it with only access to the forum (Giant Bomb / Comic Vine) itself. Is there anyplace to get those tools (the proxy list and changer, passlist and failed login codes) or a tutorial you could point me in?
