Is botting in OSRS or RS3 still worth the time/effort from a financial view? I'm considering getting into it and learning to write my own bot scripts and what not, and I'm curious if it's even worth the time anymore. If it is, is it more valuable to go for skilled characters then sell them or is it more profitable to gold farm?

botting is a bit easier on rs3 than osrs. But any decent gp method for rs3 requires high level account whereas low levels can make decent amount /hr in osrs.
At the end , ban rates are crazy and i don't think it's worth starting a gold farm considering you'll need investment for vps , proxies , etc. It was worth it when gp prices were high. 0.7/m is pretty low for the amount of effort required.

And you're going to "learn" ? Unless you have a pretty good understanding of java , you won't be able to write complex scripts with auto muling. Imagine manually transferring items from 20 bots to a mule.

Agreed prices are so low now it's really just not worth it unless you're using it to stay alive or just have a private gold stash or something.

It's only worth it if you put the time and money into managing your gold farm (VPS,Proxies,custom scripts, aged accounts). Botting for stats just isn't worth it with all the afk methods we have on both versions of the game vs Botting with a high ban rate as I doubt you'll have a custom script that someone hasn't already been banned for.

It all really depends on your money method. Anywhere from thousands a year to losing all that time and money + more. You gotta have a plan and watch GP prices.

I don't and I'm on mobile. HF doesn't have a big Botting scene so I'd look somewhere that specializes in it.

There are plenty of botting sites with very active community a simple google search should bring them all up.
