Deciding on a career

Hello guys,

I'm looking on a bit of educational advice to help me with a topic which I've been struggling with since I was a young man.

I'm 23 years old now. I'm quite an intelligent person I'd like to think - however, now is the time of life where I'm looking to do something a bit more

Besides my intelligence, I've never been able to find focus and pick something up or develop real interest in anything at all.

My problem now, is I'm trying to find a career I can progress in and build my life around. I've got knowledge built in different areas, however it's all about finding something which will give me the motivation to chase it and do well.

How would be best to find out which would be the perfect career for myself? Are there people who are specialised with assisting in this?

If anyone can help, please let me know. I want to stablise my life.
What about a traineeship? Whereby you work and study.
In this proces you'll get paid, that might be an extra motivation for you.

A vital bit of information I really should have included, is I live by myself and I have rent and bills. I need something I can work to in my spare time so I can eventually switch career
What are your interests and hobbies? Would you be able to make a career out of any of them?

It's quite difficult. I've always struggled getting really into something worthwhile that could lead to something else. I don't struggle to pick things up, when I concentrate I actually pick things up rather well. It's about developing an initial interest in things, motivation to actually do it and stick to it and finding a willingness to learn it. However, I guess I'm a pretty conflicted person. I like computers, gaming, travelling and going outdoors, music - but none of them to such an extent that my life is ever purely focused on them.

It's a difficult one for me, sorry I'm hard work!
You seem to be on a technology forum so I might guess you have at least an interest in tech, perhaps look into help desk/general IT stuff? It depends on what your expecting for wage but it should be pretty survivable plus you learn a lot which could not only get you a passion for something and you can get some experience in it before making it a full time career or school investment.
You're young. Join a union. You can show up day one half baked and stupid. They expect you too. After that they train you in the tools and knowledge aspect of that particular trade.

Honestly all the trades suck, i chose which trade im in by the pay scale. It was a 1 year move out og state til i git my union card then I transferred back home and now I make buukoo bucks.

3 years in and Im still living check to check but that is because i deny all the over time and I'm totally comfortable living month to month because ive gotten a raise every year so far and its a 5 year apprenticeship so I have 2 years left which eill give me 2 more raises.

In the end ill be taking home  $54 a hour plus the benefits package adds up to about $90/hour for pay.

I'm still able to save up and enjoy nice things on my current wage which is 70%.

Will I ever get rich? Not in the union, although my family members all live very large and comfortably. Retirement stacked out nicely.

I plan on maybe getting into management in the future or just working a boat load of overtime in 2 years and invest my money more wisely. Ill be 25 making $54 hourly or on overtime it double to $108 and if i become foreman I get paid $60 a hour or $120 on overtime.

Thats pretty doable in my book. What assures me the most is the older gentleman joining my trade. We have electricians, we have chiropractors, we have automobile workers, pizza cooks, people with college degreees, whomever.

Trick is getting in the door. Once you're in it becomes a lifestyle.

See the union sets you up for a nice life. Its just me personally ive dabbled with get rich quick things ans Ive struck it big before. So i know i dont really have to work hard my entire life but if I apply myself i can gey paid handsomely for going to work, now.

My near future plan, since ive just received a 5% raise or $2.40 raise, is to save up $1000 and day trade alt coins.

I did that november of last year when I was on short term disability for a broken collar bone (mx accident woops). I opened a new credit card with a $1000 limit, maxed it all out on cryptos within 2 days. Within 3 days I had doubled my money. I kept it up til end of december and I had close to 12gs. I got greedy and withdrew my cash and set myself up nicely while on disability. In hindsight i wouldve let that 12gs turn into 100gs within a momth or two.

Im set on day trading, i did it all in my house, on the couch, whenever i wanted to. Smoked, chilled. And made stupid amount of money off of penny coins.

Best of luck to you brother

P.s. i would like to trade stocks or make numbers my career. Unfortunately i think you need a collegw degree for being a stock broker. Im not even sure I want the rules and regulations. Alt coins make it easy for people like me and you to trade under the radar so to speak.
Id like to make my living doing that but instead im working construction just trying to be feasible and get by for now.

According to my calculations I should have that extra $1000 at the end of this month to invest it. Then things will get interesting again.
I'm still looking for someone who can give me a bit of a private career talk and help me with a few things if anyone can?

First you gotta find out what you like to do the most and then work on it if you are unsure just go on a limb and try all the things that you like and find out which suits you best, it may seem like a waste of time but thats the only way I see you actually achieving something, you are lucky I am the exact opposite of you.
Honestly I am trying to become a software engineer because the average annual salary and job market is so good.

Plus, if you get a technical degree you can still use it for business or whatever.

Would you be willing to talk to me regarding this? I'd like to get a bit of information to what you've been doing and where to look. Sounds like a good career choice and can be quite enjoyable
