Do we also have to download Python if we're running MacOS?
Someone told me it's pre installed on it.

OSX comes with 2.7.x installed you will need to upgrade to Python 3 in order to get it to run.

Best way to do it is via homebrew

install home brew --> https://brew.sh/

then in terminal run

brew install python

What exactly can you do with a post key?

$mybb->post_key is just a variable that contains a unique key/identifier for your user account. It's used to verify that requests sent to the server are actually from you. If someone attempts to spoof a URL request but has the wrong post key, MyBB will flag an error.

So essentially you could be screwed if someone got your key.

Thank you for creating this tutorial. I was able to figure out how to work this script within a few minutes but I'm sure there are a few users who weren't sure what to do. This thread will help them greatly to use this script.
