Hi,

I've started a new Small Community that I plan on working on diligently to make the best out of and learn as a forum owner with over time. Underwurld isn't meant to be as big as HackForums or even be a competitor, Underwurld is meant to stay in it's own lane and be a Small Community where people may not post Everyday, but pop in and out once or twice a day, or maybe even every other day to participate in General Discussions.

If you're looking to become part of a nice Small Community, Underwurld is here for you!

Underwurld is still being developed, but I've decided to open it up to the public so I can get opinion and form a community as I go along with adding things to it. There's still some pages I plan on remodeling, and plugins to be added etc but it's stable enough for use as of right now.

I'm wondering why you would even post this here if you know people in the know will ask questions about the choices you made.

If it's not meant to go anywhere then what's the point - other than having fun with it of course, which is perfectly fine but that raises the question above. And it seems obvious that it's gonna be hard to make this work if you are aiming for less than 100 active members. There is no reason why anyone would leave HF to go to a significantly less popular forum when they both are even covering the same.

You need to give the user something they aren't getting anywhere else, or at the very least something rare.

See I can tell you misunderstand the purpose already. I’m not expecting anyone to leave HF, why would I when even I am an active poster here and intend to keep it that way?

The point is for me to get better at css, html, and other things as I run a small community for fun. I don’t have interest in competing with anyone whatsoever whoever joins, joins, and whoever doesn’t, doesnt.

I’d elaborate further but I just woke up.

What's the difference between this and Doom aside from the name?

Theme, Plugins, Members, Purpose, Me. Doom was a Technology forum generally, Underwurld is not.

Underwurld is also a lot more stable than Doom was (lol) but I plan on making Underwurld better than Doom, and making it into what I wanted Doom to be.

I still own Doom, just haven't decided on a plan for it yet. A lot of people tend to think I make forums to "go big" or "make money" I really just enjoy making them, regardless if they're different or not, I just enjoy running things my way you know?

I find it to be quite fun when done decently.

Good luck with your forum. Ignore anyone who tries to deter you from going forward with these projects. Sometimes people go through hundreds of iterations of an idea before they find one that is really successful. Even if this one isn't, you'll surely learn something along the way. :)

Here are some of my thoughts bud

1. Work on your theme more. Give it some more life, maybe a background image, and definitely soften the font (way too white + bold).
2. Switch up on your domain name to something brandable and related to your site.

Don't listen to anyone that wants to bash you. Take real suggestions and put yourself to work. Your site is only going to go as far as your passion will take you. With it being said that you don't plan on making this a successfully large forum, you can do whatever you please. If your end goal isn't to have a million members you'd be saving yourself a lot of work.

Change my domain for what? To what? GeneralForums? {randomword}forums.net? I'll pass. I prefer to make my own identity whenever I make forums. Underwurld is brandable.

Your domain is pretty cool. I might signup as it would be the first forum I've signed up on that doesn't have forum in the URL

I suggest making the font a little bigger.
