Hi,

I just returned from a 3 month ban and I can't follow the changes. I'm reading Omni's threads but I couldn't find everything. I see people sell their awards, how is this possible? The new theme is nice btw.
Go to the Market CP and then find the link for Award Market.

Oh so it only works with bytes? I saw people selling for USD at the marketplace. I'm kinda confused.

Yes, you can sell your awards for money. There isn't a set price for awards at the moment.
An erstwhile gamer with several thousand dollars in donations and multiple group leaderships to his name, in March 2016 Red Sox was closed after his account, Skype, and BTC Wallet were allegedly compromised and used to scam other users.

You can lock an award sale to a specific user and then just have them buy it for 1 byte or whatever the minimum is and send another payment via crypto.

Yeah but I find it weird. What's the point of donating now for awards when you can buy them from someone else for a cheaper price?

Read 2 threads I've posted carefully, all explained out there. Some awards are not sell able

Omniscient appointed me as an administrator and now I work for HF full time as a developer. New stuff is released all the time and Omni and I are working nearly every day.

Check out this thread that Vitani made that highlights on some of the bigger changes: [11/2018] HF FAQ || Explaining recent changes

Reputation was reset in June after the introduction of the Marketplace Suite & Contracts system. Check out the new Market CP to learn and navigate that area of HF.

Contracts are designed to help prevent scamming and it comes along with its own Business Rating (B-Rating) system. Reputation was never intended to be used as a metric of trust so to clear all the invalid reputation and market-style rep the decision was made to reset all reputation on site. This included negatives, neutrals, and positives. A few months after that we decided to rename the reputation system to even further distance it from the Marketplace because many members use to view "reputation" as "trust", hence the new name for it: "Popularity".

The Award Market just came out about a week ago along with a feature that allows you to rearrange your award order.

The new login policy is for GDPR compliance which was required as of May 2018. You will only see that page ONCE so now that you have accepted the agreement you will not be bothered with it again.

You should also have noticed the new theme. This theme was added to HF around September 1st, 2018 and it is mobile responsive, which none of HF's previous themes were. As a result, SEO ranking and user experience should be enhanced.

Back June we also added "Bytes" to HF. This is a points system that you can use for various activities onsite. You can earn them from posting or from members posting in your threads. You can also donate Bytes to other members by clicking the green circular plus sign next to their Byte value on posts or from their profile. We added a few Byte games for those who enjoy gambling. Check out the HF's Slot Machine and the Blackjack Table or even try out the Crypto Game where you can practice cryptocurrency trading using real market values. With the Crypto Game you use Bytes to "purchase" simulated crypto coin which you can sell back later for hopefully more Bytes than you put in. We have many plans for Bytes beyond what functionality already exists for them.

We also recently (about a month ago) released Crews. Crews allow members to start their own "crew" of members. There are different Crew tiers and each comes with different abilities. At this point the initial Crew release is the base of a much larger concept. The idea is for a lot of HF activity to involve Bytes and/or Crews. Please note that Crews should NOT be confused with privately owned groups. Crews do not have a private subforum, though the highest priced (Bytes that is) Crew Tier does allow a userbar. Check out the Crew CP to see the progress of the Crews project.

If you are a marketeer then you will be very happy to hear that the Paid Sticky system has been 100% automated. If the section you wish to purchase a sticky for is booked full you even have the ability to add your thread to the queue so that it will be automatically stickied the instant a spot is open.

A lot more has changed and Vitani's thread does a great job explaining it but it is hard to really pass on all of the smaller details that have been adjusted as well. Consider that I have been working full time for HF since March releasing code at a rapid pace. For every large feature release that members see I am likely doing at least three times as much work behind the scenes with stuff that members will never notice. Improving security tools, better moderation tools, SEO work, etc.

If you have any questions about specifics I would be glad to answer if I am able.  😉

Also when you obtain an award, if it's one you can sell, you have to hold it 6 months before it can be placed on the market.
