200 gpus collecting dust in the office, whats everyone upto?

Haven't even looked at my rigs in MONTHS.. turned them off once mining turned from a profit into a loss. Was planning on selling them but was busy with other ventures, I still have much faith in crypto in general and do not mind holding onto my parts if I know I can make $ off them in the future. BUT, I do want to know and catch up on if my 1060 6GB GPU's are still going to even make $ and want to know where the whole mining community is at this current moment in the market

How many of you guys got your rigs off? Anyone still mining? For me, turning on my rigs would put me at a loss each month due to electricity and cooling (can prob save $ now due to Winter) so instead of mining, I just invest.

for me, I bought these cards at 225$ a pop in bulk (some even cheaper when I was buying through Amazon), so selling them at this current price is not a big deal for me.

curious to know what everyone else has been upto and if its worth selling my cards or holding. 👍
I've been holding onto cards while only mining on a smaller scale (to support pools and things like that that I run) and then also just buying crypto. If my entire farm was perfectly stable and never had to touch it again, i would leave the whole thing running. But since it is like a daily thing, I just leave my "good rigs".

I have all my rigs stable, all cards detect but just not all OCD. I remember the months though where I was dealing with OS issues (windows primarily).

what do you mine? I am looking at ETH, 2380MH would yield 23$ a day, drastically low.
You can use whattomine to see whats most profitable or just look for new ann threads on bitcointalk and try to be an early miner on new projects, they usually end up being worth it.
A lot of smaller miners are forced to leave however there is a chance that as difficulty continues to drop the following months many miners are closing up meaning difficulty will continue to drop until we hit a equilibrium point where small miners with fairly cheap electricity can earn again. People paying .1c or less KWH will start earning soon again if difficulty drops more small profits but still it's a start
I had a rig of 6x 1080 TI Strix OC 11GB but sold them before the launch of the 2080 TI.
Bought them for around 800€ in January and sold them for 700€ in September.

I'm left with 24 GPU's (some RX570 and some RX580).
I've them mining ETH for months now and I am currently losing money due to electricity cost but hey it's an investment for me so I am just saving all the ETH's I can hoping for a better future.

You have any thoughts of selling your cards?

Not really...
I will wait at least 1 more year to see what happens with cryptos next year.

Why not instead invest $$$ instead of losing money to electricity. This is very poor logic. If you truly believe in ethereum, then you would be cost-averaging down, not simply "losing money" to electricity.
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.

I somewhat agree as-well. when I had my rigs on I was also investing. I felt like a complete idiot having my rigs on knowing extra money is going out my pocket just to keep them while that extra money could go towards investing. I do think mining other currencies other than ETH with rigs would be smart than investing (depending on the coin)

How would you guys advise on selling off 200 GPUS and parts? Not really trying to go on Ebay and begin shipping one by one.

You're right! But if I were to sell the GPU's now I'd lose more than what I "think" I can earn long term holding the coins I mine.
Anyway it's also a "personal" project. I've built a space dedicated for my mining stuff, with cooling solutions and so on.
Don't get me wrong I've also bought a good amount of coins that I'm also holding so I have cryptos in both ways (buying them and mining them).
Sell your cards, new cards are coming monthly, so basically every month you wait is a decrease of value for you

Sorry but it was miners who brought up BTC and ETH from the ground up.

Older cards are actually no longer manufactured and price usually holds fairly well 2000 series are way overpriced for all aspects.

Craiglist / local, maybe some sucker will guy them lol. I'm in the same boat, it is nice having a lot of hardware when starting pools though.
