Due to poor quality of life Serbia has to offer, I'm forced to make a change, for the better.
I'm planing to move to Sweden and bring my mom with me. As I've heard, they are offering housing and some financial help to migrants.
Even if it's for 3 months, it'd help a lot, taking into consideration that here, in Serbia, average wage is $250-$300 (it's usually less than that) and financial help "poor" (people in need) receive is around $50 every month. Eventually, when I can stand on my feet, I'd like to contribute to the society, but for now, I'm dead weight.
Could you share your opinions or even better experiences with this?

In life, there comes times where we have to make sacrifices and do what we have to in order to achieve a better lifestyle. Obviously the one you have now isn’t working & you want more, to be able to provide. If that means completely starting over & moving somewhere else, Then so be it. Just my 2c. Only YOU know what you want for your family. If you plan on going to Sweden, go in with a plan. Do your research and make the final decision. Yes, it might be tough. But those types of choices shouldn’t be easy.
I did plan to write something huge here but I'll keep it simple.
Me and my friends are paying for you. Don't think the state just creates money or houses for free, I work my ass of in Sweden and a lot of that goes to immigrants.
I am in no way racist BUT for the love of God, if you plan on coming here you should learn English and get a job. Contribute to society!
It won't work just going here and feeding of us for free housing, you actually need to work and get some shit done because bare in mind, the guys that are working are paying for your shit. I just want you to keep that in mind.

Thank you! I'm well aware of that and don't want to be dead weight. I do want to contribute, my spoken English is relatively good and I'm capable of working.
I'm just afraid, that I won't be accepted or be deported back to Serbia, but I won't know unless I try. I need a new life and a better one that is.

Speaking as a country, yes.
Speaking for myself, no. I don't want EU, I don't want open borders BUT the majority in Sweden want it or is incapable of deciding what they want or what political party to choose.
