Photoshop CC or CS6?

I didn't knew where to ask so I decide to write it here, I was using photoshop CS6 so far but made format yesterday and was wondering which version should I install now.

What do you recommend?

Which version is better? what extra has the one from the other?

Thanks in advance 🤝

I'd recommend you go with Creative Cloud. Abobe had done a solid job at improving the entire suite over the years, and even just recently have implemented solid improvements. It's going to be difficult for me to spell out those changes for you. My company made the move to Creative Cloud as an early adopter. And the subscription model made the suite affordable for me, so even at home, I made the move as soon as it was available. As such it has been years since I've dealt with CS6.

But, generally speaking, the only reason to hold onto CS6 is if you need to run a plugin that hasn't been upgraded to support CC. At work we keep an InDesign CS6 install around because our license for XMPie doesn't support CC, and we do a lot of variable mailing. But you'll find the Creative Cloud application allows you to install other versions of the software with ease. To show you what I mean, I took a screenshot for you:

Thank you very much 🙂
In the begin I thought CC was something like light version, mistaked. :D

Oh yeah, no, that’s Photoshop Elements. CS and CC are the full versions. CS is just the last of the old perpetual license model. Elements is really only for basic photo editing to my understanding. Probably best to not bother, haha.

Check out Affinity. I used to use CS6 but switched over because I don't like the subscription model. Affinity is a one time payment of $50 (watch for holiday sales). It's an excellent cost-effective replacement in my opinion.

I've never used Affinity, so I can't knock it. But all I'll say is, if you're hoping to break into the design, print, or marketing industries, you'll need to demonstrate mastery over Adobe programs. Particularly Photoshop and Illustrator for the web design/marketing space, and InDesign for the printing/marketing space. It's what 99 out of a 100 employers are going to use in-house.

Personally i think its a lot easier to work with something you are used to.
