Keep yourself hidden if you plan on doing anything you feel is punishable by the authorities. First step in protecting yourself is a good VPN. Then you will need a good proxy if your performing very blackhat tasks. Tor browser is good to use as well. It keeps you hidden on other levels.

I would suggest using a VPN that doesn't keep logs (free means garbage). Have like 30 identities so that they can't tie you to other forums, accounts etc. Anything to keep yourself anon. Using Kali linux within a virtual environment is a good way to keep yourself protected as well. Also, wear a tin foil hat....not because it protects....because it looks fucking rad!

if you are scared of viruses and dont feel like getting a new pc, i would just say to go with vmware or virtualbox as 1.if u get infected with malware, it wont be connected to your pc and 2. u can turn it on and off whenever u want.

KALI LINUX IS BEST BECAUSE IT CONTAINS MOST OF THE SOFTWARES AND STUFF YOU CAN USE TO LEARN.
