Winter storm, blowing snow? That's just that. When the blizzard warnings apear- well that my friends, is when the weather is bad enough for 1/4 of your state to pull all plows off the road, for safety issues, and adding tow bans on top of it - and dot saying that emergency services would not risk going out on the road to save your stupid ass.
And roads closed. Because they are blocked. By snow drifts that dot won't plow until the morning, because of safety concerns. At some point, nebraska had a fucking interstate shut down. And that shit is usually avoided at all costs.
Essentially, if you drive anywhere, and you get stuck or crash-well, as a local weather agency once said - make sure you write your social on your forehead so we can tag you when we dig out your body.
You can always take more. You can never take less. You can't throw up what's already in your bloodstream, and "high killing" drugs like benzos don't help when you took too much heroin or feel a pain in your left arm after coke. Go slow.

It doesn't happen a lot here to this extent, but bad road conditions happen. Usually not to the extent that all services have been banned or removed from the roads, and you are considered to be on your own, and you probably won't make it anywhere

Iowa. It doesn't get this extreme usually, but it freezing rained for half a day, over slightly melted compact snow, snowed a bunch, then wind picked up, and now, -30 wind chills keeping the ice on the road, but also blowing snow so you can't see, and creating loose snow over deep Ice.
It essentially perfected the conditions needed to make a road impassable and unclearable.

The UK gets about 3" of snow and completely shuts down. lol We place more importance on naming our gritters "gritty mc grit face", rather than actually prepare better for snow.
it's nice here though dry warm and unusual for February.
The title of your thread made me absurdly hungry for a DQ Blizzard. The snow's been awful where I live this year too. I can't wait for it to be over.
