Introduction
So being just a few weeks away from my official 10 year anniversary I figured I'd make a thread about it. Some of you may remember me, most of you won't. I haven't been active fully in several years (~2014), however, I have been lurking and been keeping up to date on the day to day activities and changes that have been made. If you're interested in my story & the nostalgia that comes with it, feel free to keep reading. If not, you suck and should die a painful fiery death, good luck on your 10 years :).
Little bit about me before I start - I started here my sophomore year of high school and am now, incredibly, am studying veterinary medicine in the Caribbean. It's been a longgggg journey of ups and downs here, with making friends and losing them, becoming staff multiple times, losing it, leading groups, making money, becoming mentor, falling in love, and it goes on and on and on. But here we are, and here's my story:
The Beginning
Note: This is from my original thread in 2013. If the thread links are dead, I apologize. Also, I added some new commentary in orange
Well.. here we go. Okay, I first started going to HF March of 2009 with the name "The Seeker", then left as soon as I posted my guide on how to become staff. This forum was far too large, and looked incredibly intimidating when I first posted. I still did it because I wanted this guide to become well known and used.. but if you want to check it out, see here:
(Dead Link)
I wanted to learn how to "hack" Runescape so I figured this would be a great place to start.
I found a phisher thread for Runescape and started to post in it, asked questions and hoping to figure that damn thing out. I never did figure it out, but I found I was enjoying the community. The next thing that happened was I was beginning to contribute; put tuts forward, posting on questions helping people out, etc. Soon members began to take notice - especially iBruteforce (my love for this guy is pretty high up there. He gave me my start and was always a dope ass mentor. Much love to you bro.) But after I was noticed, I entered a contest for HF L33t.
3 members were selected. Me, and two others. Azerty (I don't know his current name) purchased it. I gave him my account details, I trusted him and he didn't let me down. I was l33t, and soon began to contribute more. This was at a time when people had to access your account to give you l33t. There was no ability to 'gift' it at the time like it's done now. We've come a long way lol.
After I won, I was thinking.. I need a new name, so I came up with "Hidden Knowledge" as some of you may remember. (None of you remember that's for sure lol) Later that week, I applied to The Alliance. (This was the first Alliance Recruitment thread - even before The Alliance was created! :D) I was accepted, and curious who my mentor was. I made it in and soon rose through the ranks. I first became a mentor, then head mentor, then "moderator", and finally leader. All this took about month. Skill and I are buds till this day. <3 I miss this bastard. One of the nicest people you'd ever meet.
After I became an Alliance leader, I felt on a role. I began becoming friends with the staff - PMing them (lol, I know) and just talking. I then became friends with SoF -We had a love/hate relationship, but this guy hasn't been active in 6 years. Wonder what he's up to. - he accepted me in HJT (this was then transitioned to MRT before being stopped completely. You can still see the MRT awards today on some profiles,) after a talk with Valiant. (This was mid-sept of 2009) I continued my work for The Alliance along with HJT. I still contributed to the rest of the sections too.
I even tried to create a group to help the forum out: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=124973
Later on, I posted this thread: Dead link - I wasn't able to convince Omni to sticky but I was able to convince my buddy iBf to. So there it is, still.
--
Still feeling on a role, I wrote up a recruitment thread for all the valid groups on HF (note: this wasn't all the accepted ones though). I worked on it for the better part of an hour and posted it up. I PM'd it to Omni, (I don't recommend; I just got lucky.) and he must've liked it. He gave me the silver medal and stickied it. Win!

2 months past.. I was still going after my goal of staff. Working hard, never flaming, enjoying convo's with staff, etc. Then one day I got a PM from Omni saying would you like to be on our staff? I was like  then  :Oui:. I accepted and got to work - shit wasn't easy. A ton of reports, lots of complaining members and the most awful smell in the staff kitchen. (I personally blame iBf, that's just me.) Back in those days the reports numbered in the 2000's daily, with a culmination of 12 staff members. It's nothinggggg like it is today. The forum is managed efficient nowadays with more structure, broader rules and actually, very good members. These were genuinely the wild west days of HF. There was porn, there was phishing, there were booters, social engineering and so on. The forum is pristine in comparison now lol
Then came the threads ranting.

It was a bad time, I sorta backed off the lounge and things cooled down. In the month of April, I stepped down from staff. I still stayed to contribute, but I generally wasn't active until August 2010. I stepped up again and worked hard, re-connected with old friends and started becoming a leader again - joined HJT again, became a mentor then leader again in The Alliance. In November 2010, I became staff again.
I stepped down again several months later, claiming I need to focus on school. The mentor group had been created at that point, so I was added to it. I 'focused' on school for about 3 months before being drawn back. I worked myself to get staff again.. this time it didn't pan out. I offered to make 'rules/guidelines' for the Minecraft section for Omni. He approved of me doing so, so I worked on them. After a few days, I PM'd him my final results. As a consequence of that, I was demoted to ub3r with a simple: "You're trying too hard. Stop."
The Middle
]A very Omni-esque thing to do, no? Lol. I was still young in the beginning of 2011. 18? C'mon most of us were stupid as shit lol. Anyways, I left for two years following that point in which I was in undergrad. I came back in April/May of 2013, and worked to.. I don't know? Contribute? Regardless I obtained staff for the third and thankfully final time lol. I went through some personal struggles that summer which made me leave completely AGAIN 😅, and ever since then it's been a come and go type of scenario.
In early 2014, I was relatively active. I built my own PC, asking HF members for their expertise in the parts I should order and the pricing, etc, etc. Then with said computer, I released an e-Book on how to be the best forum personality you can be for $15. I think I sold a max of 10 copies lol. Regardless, I'm going to release it here for my 10 year anniversary. I honestly can't remember what else happened in 2015. I was in my own world at the time. HF happens and sometimes it's hard to keep up lol
In 2015 I began merching on runescape and was super successful making 40 mil from 100k. I remember training people and helping them with modeling after my own techniques. It was a fun time and I did that for about 8 months. Still making friends, still socializing.
Now
After 2015 it's been weird to say the least. I haven't really been active much since then. I'm still a mentor and I still do reports when I pop on. However, with other distractions, like living where I am, and actively pursuing medicine it's been difficult to keep a consistent schedule. I do, however, try to keep in touch with old friends and fellow old-fags. So while I generally don't do shoutouts I'm going to write a few things about a few people. It's not in any particular order, and I if I forget someone I'm sorry lol.
Kutmustakurt - oldddd staffer who I learned alot of HJT from. Good dude, often wonder where he ever went. Hasn't been active in almost 8 years.
Pink Floyd - one of my OG homies. Still have this man on Facebook and I love him to death. Remember all the Minecrafting we used to do.
Paradoxum - The bot herself. Brilliant and talented we always had a good working relationship. I remember I promoted old katgar to The Alliance leader back in the day. See she's still active, I honestly hope she replies lol.
Slankey - Another good dude who I just recently reconnected with. Old school Minecraft player with RadarX, Dykersoft, Carbon and a few other old heads. Nearly 9 years ago since NexusRP
Froggy - What can I say about Frogster? She's pretty dope. Known her for years now. Oh, and congrats on your wedding. :)
Positive - Good ass dude and bomb ass photographer. Lots of memories here as well.
Robbieava - Man, lots of history with this guy too. Hope you're doing well bud. Sorry you never got staff lol.
Diabolic - another old-fag. Great guy all around and has been around for most of my journey.
AsSaSs@iN - The man, the myth, the legend. Old school staff member with me. He remembers those days and how much fun.. and hellish they were lol.
N3w_2_H@Ck1n™ - Another old school troll who rose above it all and became staff. Loved this guy lol.
Omni - Well, all of us know this guy. Thank you for creating this awesome environment of learning and fun for everyone. Wouldn't be here without you. And thank you for putting up with my annoying ass for 10 years. And thank you for the gold medal you're going to give me. You're the man. Regardless of all the shit people talk, this forum is seriously impressive and the direction you and Xerotic are going is absolutely incredible. If you ever need anything from me in a limited, non-staff, capacity, never hesitate to ask lol.
Final Thoughts
Thanks everyone for an incredible 10 years. Thank you Omni, once again, for everything you've done. HF has seriously molded my childhood and gave me a perspective on things I would never of had. I look forward to the next 10 years to see what this forum becomes.
Bless up and thanks HF. For everything.
