Vac Banned Vs Banned

Anyway to tell if someone is vac banned or just banned by a staff member?
Usually their warning level is a giveaway of if they were banned by staff. Aside from that, I don't think bans are viewable anymore.

Yeah someone doesn’t like transparency because he routinely bans people for disagreeing or criticizing him.

I was just one month banned for it.

In b4 ban
By the way, I always wondered about the difference between the @exiled & the @closed accounts ? Does anyone know the signification of each one of them ?

Banned users are given the exiled usertitle. Bans may lead to closures. Closed users are given the closed usertitle.
I don't middleman any deals on- or off-site. Please don't message me requesting my past services and certainly don't fall for anybody who claims to be me.

not all are given exiled though

If you have a default user title you get the exiled title
if you have a custom one then it stays as whatever you had.

Thanks for the explanation, so basically closed users are gone forever, on the other hand exiled members are just banned for a specific amount of time which may be changed to a perm ban.
As an extension, only admins can close accounts. This occasionally leads to staff members issuing their maximum possible ban (I assume is a few years or maybe indefinite) for an admin to later close the account if they're a spammer / present serial issues.

Another giveaway is vac banned users often give themselves the 'away' status on their profile.

And now you're just closed for being an asshole. Is that transparent enough?

That could be a nice feature. If someone is doing a Vaca ban, they probably will do it if they are smart, but if it was automatically set when they do one, it would be a nice feature.

There have been times where I see someone I wanted to message but they were banned and I had no way to tell if it was a vaca ban, or if it was a staff ban or when they would be returning so I lost that opportunity. I get why we can not longer see exact reasons why people get banned (you can sometimes deduce it from warnings), but seeing when a ban ends would be nice and a slightly more noticeable distinction of the two types of ban

Just gonna screencap this for a future savage thread. lol.

I do miss the days of looking at the bans.php page to see the slap downs people got from Omni for being cucks.

Not really I have been banned without warning levels.
