Anybody Here Use a Chromebook?

Okay, so I am looking to buy a new Chromebook.

Why? Because I am needing one very badly. Because I write alot, and I really don't see the need for a Macbook or a Laptop. I think
Chromebooks are way way better suited for me. All I use is a browser. 90% of the time. Google docs is perfect and nothing to complain.

The battery life is killer 8+ hours. Although it might vary as I am heavy on browsing. 20-30 tabs open ( is that heavy enough, or rookie numbers? haha )

Anyways. Let me know your input folks. Battery life is a must for me, and the speed has to be fast. Fast enough to do my browsing stuff without any, ANY lag.

I was thinking of the new pixel slate or Samsung Chromebook plus/pro

Maybe even the dell chromebook

OR

I was also thinking of buying an iPad Pro ( 2019 ) and get a Logitech keyboard
or a Brydge keyboard that will be released soon.

Idk, I've been imagining myself using the iPad Pro for not only writing but doodling with pencil watching movies on that beautiful display.
And the camera is also top notch. Although this is too pricey, maybe get a used iPad pro would be a better deal. I am not willing to shell out more than 600$

iPad may not be bang for the buck, but it will for sure be a heck of a tech to use. Am I right?
You're going to regret buying that.

Buying what? Why do you say that? Have you used either before?
I have used chrome books before and they are awful. they cost about 4x as much as they should cost, they are slow, cheaply built and offer no features at all.

How long ago? Chrome OS has definitely gotten better.

Well if you talk.about the budget models they are supposed to be built cheap with cheap materials. They have mediocre specs and are slow depending on the usage.
Install linux on it if you decide to buy a chromebook https://galliumos.org/ is a linux based os specifically for chromebooks way better than chrome os

I haven't heard of that.

I'll have a look into that.
We got to use some Dell chromebook during my last year of high school. I spent most of my day on it because I was lazy as fuck and it managed to make it through a whole day without a problem. If those things are all you want to use it for then I'd say go for it.

Still awful value for money. And who would pay more for a Chrome book that can't do anything useful? Why not just get an android tablet and attach a Bluetooth keyboard, or get one of those cheap tablets from aliexpress. they will web browse just fine and run full windowz 10
Laptops are already overpriced, Don't get me started on chromebooks.

But if you don't need to use heavy performance programs and value performance over comfort. Get a chromebook. It's easy to take with you and it's ''quick''. It's quick at what it can do.

Hey everything is overpriced these days.

All I need is to browse the web, without many tabs open and work. That's it. There will be no software or program used.

But any inputs on an iPad Pro?

In my opinion, just get one of those cheap Atom laptops or tablets from Aliexpress for around $200. The tablets will come with a detachable keyboard, the CPU is more than powerful enough for web browsing and what you want to do, and has a nice 1080p screen.

Also I do not recommend Apple products. Not worth the high price IMO, especially if you are web browsing.
I mean get it if you wanted it, i'd also say its a bit over priced but like you said most things are anyway
I'd either go with iPad or just buy a decent laptop for 600$. Chromebooks are usually trash from what i've tried.
